Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

my order was posted today, hope to have it monday.. thanks for all the screenshots guys.. been looking for a new game and figure this'll do based on all your comments / screenies :-)

I very disappointed so far by the game as it is pure console. I am not talking about the usual ported console menu stuff but rather the key gameplay elements.

The auto aiming stinks and the cross hair is a huge reticule - the outside edge only has to touch the target for you to hit. Precision aiming in any fps PC game is critical otherwise it's just too damn easy. The so called bullet time thing is just stupid because you now select your target rather than aim. I get the feeling that I should be playing this with a Wii controller. Other things like regenerating health and the hand holding objective route marker system make this such an unrewarding experience.

The game does look nice and the voice acting and story is well done, but this is not enough.

No really, I don't use auto aim....

The only thing that is like auto aim is that action when you press Z that you can only use when it is fully charged, and tbh I think that's a nice little addition.

Seriously, there is no option to turn it off. When you have dual pistols enabled there is a subtle auto aim thing going on. It's like the crosshair sticks to the target. There is also no precision aiming involved in this game. The circular crosshair reticule only has to touch any part of what you are aiming for and then it changes colour to red. You never have to get the crosshair dead centre, you never miss. This is aiming for dummies and usually implemented in console games to aid a gamepads lack of precision compared to a mouse. Almost every console game does away with this when porting over to PC.

I am really surprised you have not noticed it. You were probably thinking you were the best shot in the West :D

OK I admit I was slightly wrong, using 2 pistols I have actually noticed the auto-aim but I don't think it takes the enjoyment away from the game.

I am using medium.

I tried it out on difficult and auto aim is still there. I actually have more of a problem with being able to target with the whole reticule, just makes it impossible to miss. I have only played 30 minutes so I will give it another go as the graphics and level design is very nice.

been tryingto get my saitek pad to work onthis game  it will let a xbox controller but not a pad vitually identical or unless theres a way of changing it.

this game is good fun, although the auto-aim is fairly irksome... great story line imo, only played a few hours so far and it's getting really interesting!
