Can a vegan diet make me strong. Let's find out.

I wholly agree, I love a post-workout bacon feast!

Thanks for the positive feedback and encouragement. Just to clarify I want to reach 16 stone in three years then eventually reach my lifting goals. These goals are very high but so they should be, the sky is the limit. Realistically I want to be squatting 170KG in three years.

I'm not going to reply to any comments about eating animals. I'll leave it at that to prevent any troll accusations. I'll let the progress speak for itself. Cheers.

There's a guy on strava - the cycling logging website - who is a vegan and absolutely spanked everyone in a distance challenge back in January. I think veganism lends itself better to a sport like cycling than to bulking up and lifting, though...

That's awesome to hear. Well maybe you are right but I'm going to surprise you.

Do you think your goals are realistic? What did you base your estimations on?

I think it's realistic to reach 16 stone now I've got my diet down. This is based off my own current progress and talking to other lifters. Squatting 170KG is based off the fact I can squat 100KG already. I don't know how long it takes to go from 100-170 but three years seems realistic to me.

Hold on Nate, your first post makes things seem impossible lift wise, your next post was to hit 200kg in 3 years, then a quick edit and its down to 170.

I would suggest you edit your first post to say your life time goals are epic, and realistically by the end of 3 years you want to reach x weight target.

Personally I would take each year a a time.

170 by the end of 3 years is realistically achievable and potentially even low, but then you have a dietary challenge that many lifters don't.
