Canadian Grand Prix 2010, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal - Race 8/19

how come kubica almost killing himself at the chicane when he pitted never got mentioned.

if it were msc people would have been outraged especially brundle

I agree it was a very dangerous move and unwarranted. I'd have black flagged the **** or given him a grid penalty for that.

On the whole an enjoyable race, Alonso for me showed yet again why he is by far the best driver on the grid. For all the talk of how awesome Hamilton is and he is great yet again the gap to Button a driver many on here say is not in the same class as hamilton was next to nothing.

Alonso was frankly awesome in a car that had no business leading a gp. I detest the bloke but cannot help but be amazed at his pace.

Honestly Alonso, JB and hamilton got an amazing dose of luck. The hards didn't last anywhere near the expected levels which was a lifesaver for them.

All 3 drove great races.

I still stand by my assessment of Massa, he's a chimp. ;)
His first lap was the stuff of legends but sadly only at my midsummer fair on the dogems.

I thought the way Massa shunted Liuzzi around turn 2 was possibly the most awkward driving seen in a while. He basically used Liuzzi as a turning aid in response to their tussle in turn 1 :/

Alonso looked like a spare **** at a wedding on the podium haha. Great.

Ferrari suspect Schumacher brake tested Massa? Thats a huge, big no-no!
Punishment for brake testing is a ban iirc.

Did we hear anyone from Ferrari saying that or was it more BBC crap? The bias that they showed today was incredible.
Here is the only mention that Kubica made about Schumacher in his offical press release: "I had a close battle with Michael after my first stop, and then with Sutil before my second one."
Renault didn't even mention it. It was just a racing incident yet the way BBC were on about it you would swear it was Jerez all over again.
Same story with the Massa incident- Schumacher brake tested someone in a braking zone?! Of course he braked early- he was 30 laps on super softs that hamilton changed after ~6 laps? No wonder Schumacher can still find a team at 41 while nobody wanted anything to do with DC at ~37- the guy is clueless!

Well, I got back from Thorpe Park to find the race still on. Then, Sky+ hadn't gotten the whole program.. in fact.. I'd got lap 47 onwards. My old man walks in and says "good race, not the result you'd expect".. I threw a complete rage at him. And iPlayer took its time uploading.. so I've just finished watching.

The old man had me worrying the whole way through with his bluff as my boys pull off another 1-2 with a fantastic race from both. The camaraderie will evaporate as the season comes to a close, but for now its great watching their reactions at the end of the race and genuine enjoyment of each others company on the podium.

Loved all of the little incidents of which there were loads! And the fact we didnt get a safety car, I don't think we wanted that either. Good to see Alonso on the podium too.

Loving this season.

And now I'm going to bed.. rollercoasters are knackering.

Lets just hope we get more races like this..

I think Jenson /Lewis are a good pairing, clearly people like to see it, and it fuels some nice debate on the forums..

I liked his cheeky 'show of force' in the dying laps, I could sense JB gunning for him once past Alonso, but when Lewis just popped in a fastest lap, JB seemed to back off, undeniably this race, Lewis had the upper hand.. Lets wait and see if JB can rattle him by out qualifying him next race...

It's so nice to have 2 brits able to duke it out with different driving styles...

No way was he brake-testing. Schumacher was simply resuming the racing line for the right-hander, as he was entitled to do. He probably braked earlier than normal but then his tyres were completely shot so that's not unexpected, except by Massa who managed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time again, just like the first corner.

A thoroughly enjoyable race weekend to watch. Some great overtake moves, although do feel slightly sorry as quite a few from the back markers not paying attention.

Although BBC especially EJ making a big thing with regards to Kubica move down back straight I didn't see anything too wrong. The Force India overtook and squeezed him onto the wrong side leaving him nowhere to go except forward otherwise forcing him to brake for the chicane only to then pit.

Impressed with Alonso and good to see him not acting as cold as he is usually. Seems to be either great racing performance or catastrophic mistakes.

The Kubica/Sutil incident was VERY dangerous. Sutil thought he was fighting Kubica for the corner, Kubica knew he was pitting- it really was down to Kubica to just slot in behind Sutil and pitted like every other driver did today. If Sutil had left his braking too late, like many drivers did today, then he could have T-boned Kubica and it could have ended in the death of a driver.

It got mentioned a lot. It was very dangerous - thought the FIA were investigating it after the race?

not by the bbc commentary team who were so quick to lash out against schumacher .

you know when it was vettel alongside webber if webber would have been schumacher you know who brundle and legard would have blamed right?

its pathetic he more often than not get called a cheat by the bbc commentary team for racing then if someone goes past him easy they do the same he cant win.

its almost as if legard and brundle think everyone in england hates schumacher so they should have a go at him constantly because its what the "fans" want to hear.

hamilton can happily race people in the pitlane on more than one occasion , he cant swerve atleast 3 times on a pit straight etc and its gutsy racing or whatever BS they come out with while schumacher cant even break for a corner on 30+ lap old soft tyres without break testing.

I can't believe that Kubica got away with what he did by a simple reprimand. IMO, overtaking the Force India car in the way he way he did was one of the most crazy things I've seen an F1 driver do in a VERY long time.

His move could've resulted in death, bearing in mind that both drivers were travelling at high speed and the Force India would not have been expecting somebody to do what Kubica did.

RedBull have got to be scratching their heads; they have the best car (by a fair margin) and have had, since the start of the season (albeit with reliability problems), yet they are not leading the WDC or the WCC.

Given that McLaren appear to be closing the gap with every successive race, RedBull might have missed their opportunity. They really should've opened up a gap over the rest for the first half of the season and then defended the lead as the season drew to a close (as BrawnGP did last year).

I still stand by my assessment of Massa, he's a chimp. ;)

I'll agree with you to a certain extent - this year Massa (for whatever reason), seems beaten. There doesnt seem to be any fight. Where as in previous seasons he was a force to be reckoned with. Had the old Massa turned up, along with Alonso, Ferrari would've easily had the 2nd best driver pairing of 2010.

So what's changed?
Massa had a huge accident.
He had a baby.
He was joined at Ferrari by arguably the best driver in F1.

I guess a combination of all of the above have resulted in his lacklustre performances of late. I just don't understand why Ferrari have re-signed him for next year, bearing in mind that he appears to be going downhill.

I used to rate Massa quite highly, but these days, he merely seems to be going through the motions.
