Canadian Grand Prix 2013, Montréal - Race 7/19

Yay Canada! The 2011 race is still one of my favourites of all time. Hope McLaren can put up a better show this weekend...

Also, shamelessly stolen from another forum and OT but everyone HAS to see this:

Imola testing March 1994. Epic and poignant. Listen to those V8, V10 and V12 engines (particularly the Renault V10 and the Ferrari V12) sing. The Ford V8 in the Benetton sounds like a bag of spanners in comparison. RIP Roland and Ayrton :(

Tbh the sound of the current V8s, when you hear them live, is exactly the same if not better. What's different are far quicker gear changes and also the huge amount of engine management under braking, especially slow corners. The Renaults of 2011 were the low point of exhaust blowing, but you can still hear a diluted version today.

On throttle though, they're bang on.

Kimi fan really.

But you do like to see the drivers push each other on and improve the car.

I can't see Grosjean in that seat next year unless he has a stellar rest of the season.

Neither can I. The frustration is that the speed is in him

Dat Ferrari V12 downshift

But yeah, accelerating at least, the current cars are pretty similar.

Closing my eyes and listening to 24 V8's screaming at 18,000RPM echoing through the Belgium forest, one of my best ever memories.

Get to recreate it for the final time this year :(. The V6's will be different.

Kemmel Straight?

The number of stops will gradually go down anyway due to developments in the cars.
