Canadian Grand Prix 2013, Montréal - Race 7/19

While focusing on next years car may not always work, the flip side of it, i.e. not focusing on next years car because you keep all resources on this years car (usualy because your in a title fight) can have a big negative effect. Just look at McLaren and Ferrari in 2009. Pushing the development of the 2008 car right to the end of the year because they were in the title fight seriously hindered their 2009 designs.

So while focusing on 2014 may not mean McLaren produce a stormer, keeping focus on the 2013 car could mean they miss the boat and produce another stinker.

And as for DRS, I don't understand why the detection and activation line aren't the same?

In other news... Jenson has conceded this year's world title. Which is pretty obvious now considering the trundle wagon that Mclaren have made for him. They should just focus purely on the 2014 car now and make an absolute beast for next year.

He must be really destroyed about this year's car because he doesn't usually concede so early nor does he because it can affect the morale of everyone back at the MTC working to develop the car, but I think he's probably just saying "well show me different then" to them.

Either way it's pretty depressing this season for Mclaren :(

He never had a chance of winning it anyway :p

RE the drs thing - It was intelligent from lewis, it was just Alonso was wise to it :D

Hi, agreed, I wonder if JB isn't looking elsewhere for a drive, although the options are pretty limited as he would wish to be the No 1 driver. It is sad that a team such as Mclaren cannot seem to get a car together that challenges right from the start of the season these days. I do think that Martin Whitmarsh needs to take a good look at his team thoroughly or fall on his sword now.

Hi, I've never seen Lewis as a intelligent person at all, quite the opposite, what he has though is a drivers intuition, however that is what gets him into trouble....
