Canadian Grand Prix 2013, Montréal - Race 7/19

I never did that one but you can do the others lazy git :D

Your the one persisting that Hamilton would have won. Doing only a best possible list for Hamilton is a pointlessly one sided viewpoint. But if that's all your willing to do it says a lot about your stance on the subject.

I'm a Hamilton fan and don't like either Alonso or Vettel, but even I'm not going to pretend Hamilton would have walked to the title last year.

We all know Hamilton is better than Button, pointless trying to argue otherwise. It's just common sense. All things being equal, Hamilton is faster.

The only reason one would likely pick Button over Hamilton is his media personality, something Hamilton lacks. However being a decent fellow does not win races.

It wouldn't be a GP thread if it didn't head massively off topic into an oft-discussed area after the race. Usually with a small dose of trolling (not sure on that one this time as I ignored it this week).

Nah, we're being sensible here. He definitely would have driven it. Those Pirelli shoes would never last a full season.

Sure?

Not sure if this has been posted, but it's an interesting video of Hamilton and Alonso both backing off so they're not the first one over the DRS line:

Intelligent driving from Hamilton there. Now, I expect 5 more pages on the subject of DRS ruining racing. Ready?... GO!

wasn't that intelligent - he was teh first one over :p

In other news... Jenson has conceded this year's world title. Which is pretty obvious now considering the trundle wagon that Mclaren have made for him. They should just focus purely on the 2014 car now and make an absolute beast for next year.

He must be really destroyed about this year's car because he doesn't usually concede so early nor does he because it can affect the morale of everyone back at the MTC working to develop the car, but I think he's probably just saying "well show me different then" to them.

Either way it's pretty depressing this season for Mclaren :(

TBH I can't see them doing anything until they get another top driver. And I think they will keep making silly mistakes in 2014.

When teams "focus on next year's car", it usually ends in disaster. The one time in the last 2 decades where it actually worked was in 2009.

I fully expect RBR and Merc to be the teams to beat next year. Why? Because they have the fastest cars in 2013. Once Merc sort out their tyre shredding problems, Hamilton should be every bit as fast as Vettel.

Re: McLaren: this juggernaut needs a "scoundrel" in charge. A boss who wants to win at all costs and will stop at nothing to get the best drivers and staff. Even if they have to bend/break the rules. Vettel would definitely drive this team forward and can make them great. But I don't believe McLaren have the balls to steal Vettel away from RBR and make him the highest paid driver in the history of F1 (this is something that Ferrari did in 1996 and culminated in them winning 5 titles in a row). Even Kimi would be good for McLaren, though Kimi won't be as effective as Vettel. McLaren are too gentlemanly...too English.

I can only assume that after they were fined $US100M, they have become risk averse.
