Canadian Grand Prix 2015, Montréal - Race 7/19

Button retiring, seriously McHonda, utterly pathetic, truly truly pathetic in every way.

All these people being like, they'll speed up throughout the year, reliability will come good, upgrades will help or the funniest of the lot, the engine is really fast we just have to 'unlock it'. Ron and his PR speak, everyone saying the car is great when it works... except it doesn't work and probably isn't fast even if it did.

I'll be interested say 10 years from now when the secret stories come out, was this all Mclarens fault, Honda's, or a joint screw up. Honda could have simply promised they could make a great engine that small and failed or Mclaren may have rather RBR'd it and insisted on a tiny engine while Honda had little choice but to provide what was asked. They may have said the engine will suck doing it like this and Mclaren just thought they knew better.

"Young in its development"?

Stop making excuses for them - the whole car is a total turd. We're seven races into the season, they should have sorted out the basics by now.

Alonso hasn't finished a race this year, right?

he has, retired from three in a row and didn't race in australia, finished the rest though? Honestly can't remember. WHen they have finished it hasn't been worthwhile finishing anyway so what difference does it make.

That they can't finish a race any more as they try to go faster. Seriously if that car had real pace, if the engine had real power one race they'd just do 20 laps at this great pace then retire. The drivers would prefer it and then people might believe the car isn't an entire dog. I simply don't believe the car or engine is really any good at all.

I'm actually moving beyond exasperation with McLaren and Red Bull and into pure annoyance. The former have managed to lock two ex-champions, one of whom is possibly the best driver out there, into a hopeless dog and the latter has neutralised the biggest star of last year and the only non-Mercedes driver to win a race.

Both teams should be utterly ashamed of themselves. Personally I'd like to charge them with bringing the sport into disrepute.

Surely telling Hamilton to coast for 50m before braking zone is against the f1 radio ban.

"Under FIA technical directive TD/041 messages concerning the following are not permitted (either by radio or pit board)
- Driving lines on the circuit.
- Contact with kerbs.
- Car set up parameters for specific corners.
- Comparative or absolute sector time detail of another driver.
- Speeds in corners compared to another driver.
- Gear selection compared with another driver.
- Gear selection in general.
- Braking points.
- Rate of braking compared to another driver.
- Rate of braking or application of brakes in general.
- Car stability under braking.
- Throttle application compared to another driver.
- Throttle application in general.
- Use of DRS compared with another driver.
- Use of any overtake button.
- Driving technique in general.

Rosberg goes 0.5 faster in the previous lap, Hamilton ups his pace and stretches the gap out again.

Rosberg really has suffered since the ban on driving technique discussion. He does seem to need to be babied around.
