cancelling Amazon Prime

I've heard this before but never tried it. Doesn't the credit go towards a digital download and have to be used within a set period of time? I didn't think it could be kept and saved towards Prime membership.
It has to be used within about 3 or 4 months I think on (normally) anything digital.

So if you regularly buy ebooks for your kindle it ends up knocking money off them or paying for them in full, it's rare for me to pay anything like the full price for my books :)
I think I got about £50 worth of credit over Christmas alone a couple of years back (they sometimes up it to £3 a time when they're busy)..

Of course this only works if you are going to buy your books/mp3's from amazon anyway.

I don't get how anyone can say it's expensive, I think it's worth it just for the delivery service especially if you buy lots of small things that would fall below other stores minimum level for free delivery.

You guys must want what you order desperately quick. I understand it's a great package, but the delivery thing doesn't do it for me

Even if you don' want something quick I don't want o pay extra for it. But yes, normally if I realize I need something I don't want to wait 5-6 days for it when i can get it same day/next day for free in msot instances. Just last week I realized I had run out of body-glide a few days before a marathon, quick amazon order and it was there the next day without an extra dime paid.

Same day is brilliant. Order stuff before I leave work and it arrives when I get home. Delivery on weekends and bank holidays as well. Fantastic service.

The last few years my ability to find the tine to get out for shopping has been rather limited, so when something is needed in a hurry having unlimited next day deliveries is a huge help especially for small/cheaper items.

I used to order at lunch break and arrived before the day ends and I can take it home the same day.

It's not about quick, it's about knowing when it arrives. I'm home Saturday and Sunday. I can make sure I'm at home on Sunday and order Saturday, saves me delivering to work if something large or saves me taking a day off to get it. I have the service to suit me, not arrange my life to suit delivery.

It's about convenience, it's about planning. I sometimes know I want something but wait all week until Friday before I order so it arrives on Saturday. I can wait for it to arrive just fine, I also know exactly when it will arrive too.

it allows you to plan - rather than your package might be arriving tomorrow or the next day you know that (at least in 99.9% of cases) your package will be arriving tomorrow when you're working from home/have the day off/it's Saturday etc..

Well after posting I'd got a free month for an order that wasn't delivered yesterday, it didn't turn up today either! Guess who the carrier is - Amazon Logisitics.

I suppose I usually order things over the weekend for the weekend. But I can get it delivered to work.
If that wasn't the case, Saturday deliveries would probably be worth it

was just wondering as my first year of prime is up for renewal
if anybody had previously cancelled were they offered a cheaper
" stay with us " deal? lol

cheers :D

Nope I always cancel before the months free subscription is up and they've never contacted me and its been at least 3 times now. I've never knowingly signed up to it it just gets pushed onto me somehow or other must have missed a "no" button somewhere or other.

Ah that old chestnut. I've taken to getting them to deliver to the local post office and collect at least if it gets lost on the way i.e. almost always they can't blame me for defrauding them its entirely between them and the post office as to whether it ever arrives or not.

Mine was £55 for the year when Grand Tour was announced, so took it up.

Even at £75 odd, it's a bargain for what you get. I've got so much on my watchlist that this alone will outlast the year given the pace I watch seasons at:

And then there's the free 24hr delivery, even on Sundays. The logistics side of ordering goods was a secondary bonus to the primary function of Prime for me, which is Prime Video.

It's basically delivery 362 days of the year. The only days I know that they don't deliver are Christmas, Boxing day and New Years day. They deliver on Bank Holidays, and there are also Amazon lockers as well if you know you are not going to be in that you can use to put the deliveries to and you pick it up at your leisure.

I've happy with Prime. I especially like the option to not have the item delivered next day and getting a £1 credit I can use against a film hire (or similar digital item) instead.

There are many things I order where I don't really care how fast they arrive (and they still usually arrive in two or three days). I've almost always got credit available when a new film comes out that I'd like to see. I usually get at least one 'free' rental every month.

I love Prime.

Pickup location round the corner from where I live so can pickup whenever I want. Also can download their shows on my phone and watch whenever i want.

If you don't get a Prime delivery the very next day, or ANYTHING is wrong with the delivery, complain on Live Chat, ask for 1 month extension and you will get it.

Ive done it 6 times now i think, easy free 6 months membership :D

I plan my deliveries by choosing the date they'll arrive. Which in turn has prompted me to stop spending so much on items I don't really need.

Never had them offer cheaper deals unless your a student but you need proof you are one,

I don't mind paying for it, cheaper than Netflix a month for watching tv shows that are exclusive to Amazon and I see the free next day delivery as a bonus.
