cancelling Amazon Prime

What you can do to get some money off is now and then if something doesn't turn up the next day, if you complain then they tend to give you a month for free.

Prime is great and they seem to do a lot for you when things don't go right to ensure you keep your membership running. We had so many missed deliveries when we first moved into our new build as they couldn't find it, and each time I contacted them and got a month extension for free - ended up with well over a years worth for free. I only have Prime for the delivery - over 50 next day orders in 2017 alone - but did use Video a few times last year for Sneaky Pete.

The last few years my ability to find the tine to get out for shopping has been rather limited, so when something is needed in a hurry having unlimited next day deliveries is a huge help especially for small/cheaper items.

I must admit getting something delivered on a Sunday at not extra cost is great.

Got to be careful of your lens though. Saw a clip once of a pickpocket who managed to undo the lens from the DSLR and walk away with it without the victim realizing.

My prime ends july this year although i started the subscription in june 2015  Thats how many items arrived late and i got a free month of prime each time.

Will not be renewing though as for some reason i got a snoty email off them stating ive had too many returns and if there are any more they would close my account. If you have a google about it it seems it happens quite a bit and if they do you loose all vouchers, subscriptions, etc. Im now not prepared to commit too much into the Amazon eco system.

How many returns are you making to flag that? I've only heard people have that email after trying to send back 50+ items in a 12 month period which to me seems high for returns.

I guess it also depends on the items aswell, There's been various threads on here where people have admitted to sending 5+ CPU's back due to them not being great overclockers and wanting a CPU that will hit the magic number.

Low value items (sub 20 or so) they probably don't care too much about, but returns on a high ticket item wipes huge amounts off the value. I can totally see why they would keep an eye on it.

I think it's great value :

  • Prime Video
  • Prime Music
  • Amazon Cloud
  • Amazon Prime (deliveries)
For effectively £6.59 a month. Netflix is £7.99

It wasn't many from what i recall. Im sure i totalled it to be about 9. The mrs also ordered something which didnt turn up so they sent another, maybe it flagged up the address as suspicious or something.

Since that ive shopped around more for stuff, thought i wouldnt find as good a deals as amazon and miss the ease of use amazon gives but truth be told ive hardly used them since.

Yupp, this is the only good thing about amazon logistics - when they fail (about 1 in 10) I complain and get an extra month. I'm now on month 22 for a 12 month fee.

eh??

£79 for unlimited next day delivery, prime tv, prime music, unlimited photo storage backup, free twitch account - all for £1.51 a week?

Some people......:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Absolutely this!

I use Prime Music which is great (not quite as good as Spotify but not bad), next day delivery doesn't work for me but I definitely get it quicker than normal, I've watched a few shows on Prime that were well worth the money and I definitely make use of the free Twitch subscription (saves $5.99/month).

For me, Netflix isn't worth the money and I'm only still keeping Sky as I always negotiate a much cheaper deal.

Probably the same people that are happy to go drop £4-5 on a cup of coffee or a pint.

I know a guy who creates new accounts every time he needs to buy from amazon just so that he can get next day prime delivery free for a month

Yeah that's out of order.

I don't send much back. Only for good reason when its faulty. Maybe 10 things in the last 10 years?

Big one was end of last year. A Sony ht-st9 soundbar at £1100. Failed, I repaired via Sony. If failed again just after the 12 month mark and Sony refused to repair without me paying.

Messaged amazon and I had a full refund in my account within 2 days of returning the unit...which of course they paid for.

Amazing service.

Needless to say I have sold my ps4 to ensure I minimize all Sony products in my house.

And I still think 80£ a year for next day delivery is expensive ;-) lol
