I know some here will be interested in this, although some won't be because it's Kai and DREV (blasphemy!)

As I paid only £750 for a 6 month old MKI, I can't justify £2.3K for a MKII :(

I like Kai's video's for the comedy value rather than the technical content.

I want one! (the 35 L that is).

Kai's videos are always awesome IMO, it's refreshing to watch his reviews as quite frankly he doesn't give a **** about things that other reviewers spend ages going on about (MTF charts, for example). He just gets on with it and provides entertainment in the process :p

Also I love the focus lock sound in the newer drtv videos that sensor out swears :p

He usually doesn't actually give you dependable info though, although it makes light viewing if your bored. Personally I would be happier taking Locks advise.

As a regular viewer and soemone watching already with an understanding of the product being shown I guess it makes sense but as a person watching with no idea whatsoever I can see how it could be misunderstood.

Kai is the Clarkson of the camera world, Lok is obviously May and Alamby is....well...LMAO!

I think everybody knows that the mkii is a slightly better lens. Its just that the price increase is crazy over what was already a fantastic lens which is now discontinued.

Whats the lock button for on it?
I'd not noticed that before. Does it hold the focal length? So that the part of the lens that extends doesn't creep when pointing down or whatever?

The lock button stops the barrel extending.

i.e. when you turn the lens upside down, the front element don't drop.

Generally found on cheaper lenses.

I think it just locks the barrel for when walking with the camera lens facing down as found on some Tamrons. My 28-75 XR-Di had a lock button!

OMG, Will that Tamron work on the full frame? I loved that lens so much :p

Yeah it's a FF lens, I use one. Although I can't say I am that fond of it!

Did you get a dodgy sample? The only issue I found was the noisy AF but other than that it was sharper than my then 50mm 1.8 at f2.8 and f4, it got seriously close to subjects and resolved serious detail, even though it had no USM class AF motors or IF it did focus fast.

It was also cheap!
