Canon 7D mk2 Thread

Well I only got mine today... Thanks to my lack of self control lol :)

Shot a friend's charity touch Rugby game just for fun... Was expecting it to be a bit dark, especially with me having to shoot at F4 but wow! ISO 128000 was too dark so I had to use the ISO 16000 and even then that was only 1/800 exposure :|

Guess I'll see what they look like lol

*edit* posted a few of the Rugby shots in my Photo thread :)

Yeah I've been waiting for the DRTV review and it took longer than I thought it would to arrive! So long that I ended up buying the camera for myself before they got it out lol

Don't quite agree with his view on the 7d2 not being much of an upgrade but then again I don't really watch the DRTV reviews solely for opinions.

Personally the AF and especially the better performance at high ISO is worth the upgrade. I still can't quite believe I was shooting at ISO 16000 and still ended up with reasonable shots lol

I haven't used the mk2 but it from the reviews I've read it seems like its a significant jump from the mk1.

Phal - I checked out your rugby picks in your thread, the high iso performance is very impressive.

Yeah I was quite surprised they turned out quite so well but I was also quite surprised at how well the AF worked even in that light.

The lens was definitely a bit long for touch Rugby and I missed a lot of the trys that happened vaguely close to me. In a few cases I lost who the ball was passed to so I had to check with my eyes rather than through the view finder. In those cases I tried just pointing the lens in the general direction of the ball and shooting and I often got stuff that was in focus lol
