I opted for the cheapskates version, Canon 1000D for just under £250 with the cash back. Would have preferred the 450D, it has some great extra features but ho hum I am on a budget mission. Looking forward to getting snapping again, the last SLR I used was the old manual focus type with a light meter on the body.

top notch camera i have had mine for over a year got the cash back as well,even got a tempra lense thrown in for free and a memory disk as well all from dixons,if you learn to use it right it will do everything you want it to,i have done plenty of weddings and porait pitures with this baby and never let me down yet,well worth the money.

On the face of it, no cheaper than Dixons either.

the fall in the strength of the £ has killed the competitiveness of personal import atm whilst there is UK stock bought at the old exchange rate.
Once new UK stock comes in at the new, increased prices it may swing back though.

Also, I haven't really tested mine yet. Not been on a mission as such with it, still messing with Aperture and Shutter Speeds etc

aye they all seem pretty much the same price give or take a few quid, gotta get knocking them down with a bit of persuasion as well, possibly some extras thrown in
