Canon Mirrorless Incoming

We'll hopefully know soon enough with this supposed new 1DX and pro mirrorless.

I am hoping it to be amazing too, competition is good. I just can't shake this feeling Canon will somehow come short, again. I have been disappointed far too many times in the past.

Although even if they do bring out something matching the Sony A9, the price will no doubt in their old 1DX price bracket, which is a good 25% more than A9 RRP price when launched.

And there is also the glass being massive, it is just too big for weddings, with no IBIS as well. I might not want the aperture of 1.2 but i want the quality of the L but that quality comes in a brick.

I went for the EOS R in the end, I have so much canon glass (24-70 2.8, 100mm Macro, 135mm 2.0. 70-200 2.8 IS, 24-105, 12-24 F4 etc) and i'm not prepared to switch out for a Sony body just yet, £1450 from pana moz and MPB gave me 875 for my mk3 so not too bad really!

Camera feels fantastic to use compared to the 5D mk3, the EVF is incredible, really didnt realise the difference mirrorless makes. Eye and subject tracking work well too, colours look great. Quite happy for what was a small outlay over selling the Mk3.

Yeh its a good camera for sure. Will be interesting to see if we ever get a 5dmk5 variant from the off or if they will just split the product lines to appease non-mirrorless pros.

They also need to make their variable nd filter have a zero stop option built in. It's such a huge oversight and they can do it since it's in all the C bodies.

Another month+ of use and I'm really impressed with the Eos r, the amount of keepers I get has hugely improved from the 5d Mk3 and im glad I made the switch.

There is new Firmware coming out this month which drastically improves the eye af and subject focus speed and tracking which I cant wait for.
