Capital One Cup - Second Round ** Spoilers ** [26/27 August 2014]

Not sure why people are defending it as "oh it's only Utd's B team"

A top flight club's bench warmers should be able to thrash a league one/two side with ease. This was embarassing and theres no defending it :/

It's not even that it was our backups really, it was our backup's backups. 3 of our starting defence had never even played for the first team. Then there's Michael Keane who I'm not even sure has started a game for us until last night.

That Man Utd team contained 5 internationals plus Anderson who is an experienced player. I don't think you can use that excuse.

The senior players were all awful, which filtered down to the younger lads. I'd have expected much better from Evans, but not Anderson, etc.

Of course it matters, but the end of the world it is not. You might say that (rightly or wrongly) it's almost like a pre-season game in some respects...

I think this could be a very similar situation to what happened to us after Hodgson left. Took a few months and much ridiculing before things started to come good for Rodgers, despite claims from rival supporters, pundits and the media the team was actually as bad as Hodgson's management suggested it was when we were in the bottom half of the table.

The only difference is we've not had the sustained level of success you've had in recent years so were perhaps more willing to accept a long term plan with short term success not guaranteed. I'd question whether your supporters and owners would have the patience most of us do.

Not sure. Quite a few stoppages. Not sure why they're making it out to be a big result, we are absolutely dreadful. Hockaday has a scapegoat again.

I think he'll be sacked now by the sound of it, Cellino was ready to give him the boot at the weekend but decided to give him another chance.

No idea why he appointed Hockaday though, pretty bizarre all in all.
