It happens to all teams, we went through it in the 90's and now you lot are, mythical Manager leaves and is every current manger that comes in cant really solve the problems and the team continues scrapping around 5th. Big money signings continue with no apparent transfer strategy as the Board and fanbase think this will sove the slide in medicrity but in reality they have little to no impact in terms of league position.
Oh on occasion you will have a decent season and maybe scrap 3rd or something but unlike our period of depression there are the oil based clubs around now so trying to break back into the top 4 will be massively harder.
You only have to look at this forum, phone ins and the manchester website to see how your fanbse just isnt prepared for it 'we are manchester we dont do failure' is an adage we see spouted often - do you not realise where you were pre EPL?
LVG has stated how you wont see results improve for a good 3 months ish, well if you dont make a good start your
****ed! Take Rodgers 1st season,
**** poor start saw us in 10th, our 2nd half form was top 2 or 3 yet we still finished 7th that year. The premiership is a lot harder to succeed in then his previous management jobs were he has been at the top club and had a relatively excellent squad to work with. He doesnt have that now, and you dont have time on your side.
I honestly dont think the man u fanbase realise just how
****ed you are, you've spent over 200 million in 3 transfer windows and that could rise to 300 million by the end of this window, on top of a huge net spend from the previous 3 years and the your squad is still a joke. You'll be lucky to break top 4 this year and the next.
Long may the arrogance continue though, it makes your failure more sweeter
