Capital One Cup Semi-Final - 8/9/22/23 January *** Spoilers ***

He was aiming for the ball; how anyone can say he was aiming to kick him in the ribs is beyond ridiculous.

But he was never just going to get the ball was he, If he had no intention of teaching the kid a lesson he would have just prodded it away with his foot not took a swing at it

Ok, I'm not sure what any of that has to do with what I said. I have no sympathy for the ballboy, sorry. It's not as if he was 10 years old, completely innocent and Hazard stamped on his face. He acted like an idiot and got a small kick in the ribs.

Hazard was silly to get involved at all and very silly if he intentionally kicked the ballboy. He now has to deal with whatever punishment that comes his way.

So is Max Clifford still the goto guy for stuff like this, now that's he's been accused of noncery? Kid looked a bit like Joey Barton on first glance.

I did say it wasn't aimed at you?

Just quoted you as I wanted to point out that the problem I had with the incident was down to the fact Hazard got involved when it was easier to walk away.

As for having sympathy for the ballboy.. I don't have sympathy for him, but no one deserves a kick in the ribs for what he did.

Here it is again, as it got lost in the crazy..

Why? This happens all the bloody time in schools and at home. Are we all trying to kick people in the ribs when we try to get he ball from under someone? Of course not.

Anyone who says this is anything like the Cantona incident is beyond mad.

Amongst all this drivel a serious question , can the FA punish him even further than the 3? game ban for violent conduct since the Ref saw and acted on it ?

I certainly hope they do, if Hazard had done it on the pitch to another player then it would have been a red card and a 3 match ban, the fact he did it to someone other than another player has to make the punishment more severe, with the FA though the ban could literally be anything

Swansea have said that police spoke to the lad and no charges are being made.

Would have been magnificent listening to the explanation of the ball boy smothering the ball.

'I'm Welsh, jumping on white balls that move in fields comes naturally...'

Police are saying they found the ball had a small hole in it, and upon forensic examination bodily fluid was found inside.

The boy refuses to explain himself and attributes it to "welsh heritage".

Well one of the reasons why it's not as bad as the Cantona incident is that Swansea employ the Ball Boy whereas Cantona kicked a spectator, obviously though Cantona kicked someone who was being abusive whereas Hazard has kicked a kid that was just doing a little time wasting (time that if the ref was doing his job right would have got added on anyway) but no obviously it's not as bad

Notice the violent instant uproar from the fans for that intentional stamp on the poor kids ribs.... oh wait, the fans metre's away just thought he was tapping the ball out from under the stupid kid, and the fans were cheering the kid because they could see what he was doing.

Just about everyone calling it a kick in the ribs and implying his intent was to kick the kid, is beyond saving.

You what would have happened if that was Suarez, I'd have assumed he was trying to kick the ball, I don't think Suarez(or Terry) are racists and have defended both, yet dislike both as players while also happily saying both are very good players.

It is clear as day the kid was preventing him from getting to the ball, for much of the time he was on the ground he huddled over the ball, Hazard clearly thinks the ball is underneath him, and he clearly tries to kick the ball, it wasn't a kick in the ribs, it was an accidental tap in the ribs while trying to do something else entirely. THe kid purposefully put himself between the player and the ball. What if Hazard went in to slide for a ball that was about to go out and the player ran and jumped infront of Hazard.

If he intended to kick the ball boy in frustration and anger, say if the ball had already gone, that would be absolutely undefendable, insane, assault and akin to Cantona's situation. All he was trying to do was get the ball, nothing more, and the kid spent ages preventing him before getting ACCIDENTALLY caught.

Anyway, Chelsea have the media focus not on their abject performance, and an excuse to not do well in the next 3 games unless the FA sensibly recind the red card.

I'll laugh so hard if some of the "Hazard should be burned at the stake" come and complain when at the weekend at some away fixture their team isn't screwed by every ball boy time wasting in the same way.

This happens very often, and no one ever gets a red card for it, this is where it starts to sound completely pathetic. How many times to players walk off with the ball and wind up all the other players, have players try and whack it out of their hands, or decide to grab the ball while on the ground and players kick it out of their control to get the ball back.. it happens frequently and its rarely a yellow card and there is frequently accidental contact.

This happens very often

Name one time

I guarantee you if it happened this weekend then the played on the receiving end would roll around like the kid did tonight and they'd be a red card

EDIT: The only time something like this might go unpunished on the pitch is in a malay involving more than just two players
