Capital One Cup - Third Round ** Spoilers ** [23/24 September 2014]

Didn't get home til 1 last night but well worth it to see an away win at Arsenal. Yes they were weakened but impressive performances all round from us, even Targett looked good.

What a strike by Clyne.

After the summer we had the start to the season has been better than any of us expected.

3k to an away game but only 14k to a home one, jeebz!

Yeah, Riverside does look a bit empty, but we've had seasons of disappointment with mowbray etc showing they're inept at building a promotion winning team. Lumbered with failures like Kamara etc.

Karanka's bringing about faith, and the fans will start to come back. He has ambition, and it shows.

Still, 3K Boro fans turned up and were constant, there was 10's of thousands of Liverpool fans, it looked almost full from where I was stood.

Referee was so inconsistent.
Balotelli held a boro players leg, didn't book him, but then Ayala earlier really gave away a penalty that wasn't given. Made some terrible decisions.

And 3k Liverpool fans show up to every away game and out sing most, its pretty much the norm these days away fans out sing the home ones outside of a big game.

The Ayala handball? If so I don't think that was a penalty. Also how good is he now?

Strange, a lot of Boro fans think it was, having seen the reply, I think it was a penalty really. That said, handball gets thrown about far too much these days (Rarely given)

Ayala is very good, could slot into so many premiership teams.
I think Chelsea may utilise Kenneth when Terry's finished, or they may just waste him and buy big :p

Balotelli still deserved a yellow card, absolute cretin (But I like the guy)

Yeah ofc he deserved a card but it was hardly a big deal :p

Disagree on pen though, if that went against us I'd be fuming, he's essentially tried to head the ball and just missed and hit his arm which is in a pretty natural position for jumping like that.

Just glad it turned out to be worth watching in the end, unbelievable set of penalties from both teams

Targett was a disgrace though with the "injury"...nasty piece of work

14k people paying £30 a ticket for some unpredictable championship football in one of the poorest areas of the country with the highest unemployment surely isnt as disappointing as people think.

most the time you can pay for petrol and an away ticket in the championship for that which seems to be what most are prefering .

the fans are there but they are skint !

Palace are worse than us.

I think Janmaat has had more shots on target than Rivs all season. He's seriously turd.

**** vs ****ter this game.

This Hoddle/Jenas punditry is annoying me somewhat...

Spurs not looking sharp enough for my liking though and I'm just not fancying Townsend as our man to save the evening with all these crosses and shots. We need more presence in the box for that game.
