It has a lot of punch and a lot of SLJ for 30 seconds. Soundtrack makes it more fun and kick-ass. Maybe the first ones were trying to be too dramatic and serious, and that meant it was missing the sprinkling of humour that makes the MCU films a bit special.
I expect to see a lot of virtue signalling a-la Black Panther/TFA/TLJ in the early review/leaks/tweets. Everyone will be clamouring to champion Marvel's first big female-led superhero movie. A true critique of the movie and the acting will take a little longer to arrive.
Hardly surprising really is it, stole this from an article:
"The Golden Globe winner managed to beat out Emily Blunt, Natalie Dormer, Katee Sackhoff, Katheryn Winnick, and Rebecca Ferguson for the role of Captain Marvel"
Any of those would have been a better choice.
Brie is already irritating with interviews, trying to sjw the press with her anti white man routine. Disney dropped the ball with this casting, especially if its the start of a new era following the old guards retirement.
