Captain's of crush ordered, forearm training begins!!

I think I got what you got Morba. I bought a set of 3 for about that price, the 150, 200 and 250lb ones. Heavy Grips they're called. Can't do the 200, but can do the 150 a few times and negatives with the 200.

yeah thats them.
can do the 200 twice :D
can get the 250lb one to about 1cm of touching, so will do some negatives on it.

well, got the 300 also, so will give that a go :D
did try one neg on the 300 earlier, could feel it ripping my fingers apart! the knurling on these things more than rival the oly bars in my gym!

You'll get used to it very quick. Trust me, doing negs on the gripper above the one you are trying to close works wonders.

I got my trainer set, and have been banging away on them every 3 days 3X10 sets. Already im seeing a good improvement in gripping while Deadlifting. Love them.

One question, negatives? How do you do them with these? Just let them out really slowly?

Nate

Bought a pair of grippers a few years ago but hardly used them.

I've found deadlifting barehanded (no chalk/straps) and static holds to be more than adequate for improving my grip strength.

yeah I've still got some grippers I bought when I was about 15 :D

I'm finding my hands are feeling a little strained from the constant gripping on heavy deadlifts, RDL's, HC2PP, BOR's, Chins... it's relentless and even though I'm cutting I'm still making good progress with strength gains every week. So it's a culminative effect on my poor grip!!

Last workout was brutal and I was just holding on for dear life for the RDL's at the end (10 sets with 125kg after I'd just done 10 sets of BOR's with same weight) my hands are killing me and not in a good way.

CW - i do thing that these will have a positive impact for me in terms of my grip :]

Yeah, one of my biggest weaknesses is my grip, doesnt help in any pulling exercises.

Don't want to sound like a salesman, but after a week with these, I set a PB deadlifting, I was very happy with that. But to be honest i should have known that my grip was holding me back a lot sooner. Looking back i realise I was worrying more about maintaing grip rather than the movement. Not good.

Yeah grip definately helps. First time I started using chalk my lifts shot up! I don't like using straps though, they don't help as much as gripping the bar yourself. Can't use chalk in this poncy new gym I've been forced to join :(

Though I've just got some liquid chalk this weekend so will test it out next week, they can't stop me using that :)
