Car Port Build for my MX5

I have emailed a few people for quotes for a kit 4.5m x 6m

This one here 4.2m x 3m is £255

Just put a roof on it and some garden fencing on the sides.

This is exactly what I was talking about. Most of them will do a polycarbonate roof for it as well. As long as you can use a drill and concrete in some posts it is a doddle.

Don't use panels easy, get some Arris rails and up to 10ft feather edge.

Did the same around my car port, it'll look nicer and be much stronger.. could also use some gravel boards if you want to finish the
look off.

sorry easy I forgot to get some decent pics.

these are old but you get the idea, we made a couple of gates for the front and used 9 or 10ft feather edge
down the side and across the back with a gate for rear access.

How handy are you working with Timber?

Draw up the idea and head down to your local Timber Yard and price up the required bits. Can't see there being more than £150 - £200 worth of materials there.

Do not use garden fencing on the side...

I built a bike shed for my motorbike once and used wooden fencing for the sides and that was a huge Mistake.
Due to when the fence got wet from the rain it would stay damp for days on end which made my bike and everything else in the shed rust like mad :(

These are nice cheap way to further weatherproof from the inside:

Does the job nicely, just get it nice & tight on the frame and use a staple gun to fix. Also if you use something with slats make sure they are the right way up to direct water out rather than running in.

You'll want some ventilation but shouldn't be an issue on a build like this as it will have gaps however neat you build it.

I took delivery of the wood today....looking at it all on the floor I felt slightly overwhelmed...

Cost for the wood £185

I'll post pics tomo.
