Car Port Build for my MX5

Roof is on, just a few bits and pieces to finish. :)
Things to do:

Secure the roof last three sheets and the front

Hang the front Fascia Board

Secure the Side roofing ( not decided what I'm doing yet) Might just overhang the roof and

Secure to the side Boards ( but it looks naff)

Install power

Install light

Install doors lol :p ( Not sure yet)

I'll be putting power in there. And a light ! :D I might add some damp proofing sheets to the internals yet.

Personally I would have put the clear sort of corrugated -- get some light in! Oh also, UPVC facia of some sort. Quite frankly that wood is just going to rot (especially if you have leaks or water running down the side), regardless of the 'treatment' they gave it. Your roof runnout is going to splash the wood at the bottom and it'll probably start there!
Not naysaying, it's a great job, but I've seen quite a few piece of wood garden features rot in a couple of years before...

I'm putting a gutter at the back

With proper care treated wood will last years. The decking I made is 15 years old and still going strong .

Also Clear corrugated plastic tends to crack . It crap at UV reflection and looks crap when you look up and see green moss , bird poop and leaves all over it.

looking great man, probably the only thing i'd have done differently is raised the wood off the ground with some painted/galvanised box section, will stop the water seeping up from the ground and rotting the bottom out.

Rain water doesn't leave streaks...gutter on the back linking to some water butts located at rear. Pump and hose down after snow foam . Reverse into car port/ garage :)

These would fit if I removed the bottom board. I would just need to cut them. To fit in between the posts.

A neighbour would cut them for me. The rear wall board is actually raised of the floor as there is concrete curbing behind it.

In fact the width between the posts is 900mm so one would just need to be cut in half.

Hmmm

that's a prettier version, but it'll do the same job :)

an air gap would be just as effective, if you just raise the corners.

Update : The beams over the last couple of years began to bow and the water began to pool in the middle and leak...

I took the Onduline Roof off...sold it locally for £120 And bought some C24 Grade 6x2 Tan wooden beams...I jacked up the the bowed old beams then screwed the new beams in place...In hindsight I should have put C24 beams up in the first place but I didn’t know they existed as I was a noob...

Anyway I removed the roof last week and today fitted the new C24 Beams....

Before you can see the bow...

Jacked up and fitted 6x2 C24 beams once jacked up.
