For context, with Autofoam I need approx 500ml of it in a lance to get the recommended 4% PIR. This would be a fair bit more than an inch, so it may be that it’s too diluted.

Furthermore, Touchless is MUCH better at removing traffic film and general winter dirt in my experience. It is also more concentrated, so you need 2% instead of 4%.

Same, my snow foam lance bottle is usually 1/4 to a 1/3 of snow foam with my setup/foam setting.

I used about 1% touchless, will take about 1min/14L pressure washer run-time to empty the 1L bottle in which I have about 100ml/70p (expensive enough !) of concentrate, and that will do about two cars
... just a pity can't reduce foam output/flow to be able to work more slowly than 30s for the car

Wow, that is a lot more SF per bottle. I could have sworn when I first got the SF lance (Around 9-10 years ago) the recommendation was an inch, or maybe my first SF was a lot more concentrated :o

I'll try the Squid Ink Citrus Pre-wash next time, but off to swat up on PIR

I did the same initially and got poor results, I had to bite the bullet and work out the pir by the usual method.

Won't be using in2detailing anymore. Had my delivery over a week ago and the Touchless had leaked about a third of the contents into the box. Nothing else was damaged. Didn't think it would be an issue so sent them photographs and the courier also took photographs. I've sent them photo's by email and contacted them by webnote. Tried the phone, nothing. Another company that's superb if everything goes as it should but disappear when you have minor issue to resolve!

I had a similar experience with BH Auto Wheel/Korrosol, one of them leaked and left a stench over all the other products.
Wont be using them again.

That’s pretty poor customer service.

I use clean and shiny locally, in addition to clean your car.

Both have been great customer service IMO, especially clean your car who went above and beyond to fix an issue with a Das 6 Nano I had.

A thumbs up here for both those two suppliers, quick despatch and often have codes for discounts.

I was at C&S today. Didn’t realise that the owners used to own Detailing World

Was doing some training with Kelly Harris on how to sand cars properly.

Check out the differences in the light reflections:

I will give one of those a try next. Tried out the AVA this morning for the first time and borrowed my neighbours autoglym foam canon with the karcher connection and you are right it works no issues. I will order the MJJC V2 with the Karcher connection. I was only testing it and using up some crappy pro kleen snow foam and got perfect foam instead of the watery mess I usually get. So my issue was down to flow rate I think.

Very impressed with the AVA, 12 meter hose is a game changer for me just being able to wander round the whole car and not worry about the hard nilfisk hose rubbing up against car.

Does the AVA have Karcher compatible fittings?
I am in need of a new pressure washer and have a short trigger gun with Karcher quick connect and also a 15 metre long non coiling hose from Direct hoses with Karcher fittings at both ends.

If Ava washers are capable of connecting to my kit then its a no brainer.

Yes it does in my experience, but only on the trigger for the lance attachments

The hose may be different

What's your set up out of interest?

I've even tried to phone them mutliple times and no one picks up. I just get an answer machine telling me to leave a message. I've done that and left my number and no call back. The worst customer service I've had in years.

I know you can get adapters from the AVA hose to take karcher tools of others like this...

And this shows and adapter to use a karcher hose on the gun end so I'm sure someone has done one for the pressure washer end...

I have to park near these cherry blossoms down my road and they always cover my car in this kind of dust / pollen. I wash it and within a day its just covered again.

Does anyone know of any products that can help with this somehow? Make it harder for the pollen to settle on it or something?

You’d want something which is a sealant and gives a layer of slickness.

The problem is, some sealants I’ve used, while offering lovely slickness, seem to turn the car into a dust magnet too.

But having something which isn’t clingy means you could potentially use a blower to get rid of a lot of it.

Done a pre wash, snow foam wash, two buckets, light coating of ultimate compound and then a going over with collinite 476 super double coat wax

Hopefully give some nice protection for the next 3-4 months

Didn't put much water on but beads really well i love this stuff . Used it years ago

Gave the better half's car a wash this afternoon. I've said to her we're never buying a white car again - there's iron fallout *everywhere* after I changed her brake pads last week  Anyone got any recommendations for a good fallout remover?

I've been testing out some glass cloths today.

I usually use the Purestar high density glass towels, but lately I've been finding they have been leaving speckles and fibres on the glass. They are washed and kept separate. Also I find they bunch up so it is hard sometimes to get any meaningful pressure on the glass (when required). They don't have a great absorbency rate so if you do get a bit zealous with the glass cleaner doing exterior glass, the cloth can be saturated and the product just streaks on the glass. So you need multiple cloths.

I've bought to try, the x3 pack of Mcrofbre - Crystowels. Then x2 CarPro GlassFiber Towels and finally x2 Purestar Edge Glass Towels. All were washed and stored separately.

Today, I used the CarPro GlassFiber towels and wow, amazing. They have a slight grippy texture as well as a sponge core. They actually feel like they work the product in to the glass, as well as, removing any dust or dirt and not just spreading it around and also absorb any excess cleaner to avoid streaks. And no speckle bits left behind! I did inside (with Gtechniq G6) and outside (with Glaco De Cleaner). Had to pop out later on - perfect opportunity with the sunny weather to see if I had missed anything. But nope, glass was crystal clear. Brilliant. No fibres. Those CarPro towels are the most expensive as well, £10 each.

I'll try the others in a few days as there's been a lot of dust (potentially tree pollen?) about so the glass gets covered again pretty quick.

Korrosol or garage therapy both effective fallout removers, think they are all much the same really..
