*** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

just use terry 100% cotton cloth for glass , purchased a large terry undersheet years ago from which pieces are cut as needed - no spurious fibres, good abrasion, doesn't soak with product
(clear vue - autobrite) ... now, if someone would give me a solution for cleaning interior windscreen glass, at the base vent level where all the dirt comes in,
usually needs contortionism reaching in through open door and bracing against A pillars.

Used BH auto wheel cleaner for paint work fallout, applied topically - following discussion in this thread a few weeks back.

ive just seen this come up on my feed

and i thought id post it, just in case some one uses it instead of Fall out remover or something

Got the good lady into washing her own car hurraah, at the point where we are now comfortable that 2 buckets are essential and that if it hits the floor it does not go within 10 feet of the car.

she caught me off guard today and asked for a different snow foam as she's unhappy with my current VS pro choice.

what i can gather is she would like something that sits on teh car longer (higher dwell time and ideally somethign with a bit of colour) i mocked of course then she pointed out my pc is full of RGB and i should STFU.

suggestions please folks

The Clubby was absolutely filthy again after 5 weeks. Only had time for a quick wash (Garage Therapy) and a coat of Auto Finesse rinse wax... it still came out pretty well.

I went back later in the evening and gave the plastics a coat in TW Flex wax. A hack that works well and doesn't get all streaky when it rains.

And older pic of the whole car...

And the level of filth it gets to...

I also recommend GT tyre serum. A lovely non gloopy finish, satin look over time and last a very long time.

Wrap and cable tie a microfiber cloth to a spatula, that's how I get down there

I want to know how you got her to do it - Mine does it so badly I have to re-do it. Mind you that's likely her plan all along

Looks like a similar finish to CarPro Darkside. Dries satin.

Doesn’t work well on Michelin and I find Bridgestones drink the gel. Seemingly can never get enough on!

Don’t know of any coloured ones but dwell time is usually a characteristic of the thickness of the snow foam.

Better lance and more concentrated and it’ll sit on the paint a bit better.

If it’s watery it’ll run off, especially if coated.

I need to learn how to not get a few streak marks after waxing .

I guess it's because I was doing it in direct sunlight..

Apply on using a microfibre application pad,. Buff in properly with a separate microfibre cloth .

It was warm yesterday and the sun dried the wax quickly as it went on and dried before I could use the cloth .

There was only a few streaks

Nice. Never tried CP stuff but have heard good things.

Yeah literally the velvety finish of the PS5 is enough to put me off getting them even though they're highly rated. I'll be going Eagle F1 AS6 next. I do really like sidewall of these Pirelli’s currently. Good design and take dressings well. I'm a geek when it comes to this stuff. It's just that they're hard icky Runflats.

The comparison to an RGB pc had me chuckling.

As others have said the actual product is only one factor that has an impact on foaminess.

What psi is your washer?
What brand is your snow foam lance?
- bear force on AliExpress do a good cheap one that comes with a 1.1mm orafice thing for lower psi washers.

In terms of colour I’d say maybe buy a container for her own stuff and add food colouring (worth checking if this has been done before or can affect the foam or car pain).

Not a clue on the tech details but its a kranzle K7 pressure washer
Snow foam lance would be whatever neilsons sold me with it no branding on it

The pressure washer seems to be okay maybe play around with a slightly more concentrated solution and see how it goes. If it still doesn’t go well look at the MJJC Foam Cannon Pro V2.0. It’s used by loads so could remove a variable but it is pricey. I’ve already mentioned the cheaper ali alternative

hard wax? I find if it is a warm day or sunny day, then spray some water into the hard wax pot. When you dab your applicator pad in it puts the wax on damp. Gives you enough time to then buff it off without it setting too fast. :) If it was a quick wax, then yeah, best bet is don't do it when in sunlight (or hot bright sun). Save it for a cooler part of the day or a cloudy day.

Used touchless for the first time today with new MJJC V2. Worked out my PIR at 2% with my set up I need 250ml per litre. Stuck everything on max and ended up firing shaving foam at my car, had to back it off or I could've had snowball fights with what was sitting on my car :D Took about 500ML playing about to cover my car and tbh I didn't need to contact wash but I did. It's about 50 times better than the foam I was using and finally something that helped clean all my plastics.

It certainly didn't kill off my quick beads I put on with the last wash.

I have a hairline scratch or two which I want to get rid of .. seeing as BMW said they would sort but looks like it's re-appeared I don't actually know what they did to try and hide it. .they may have just done a light hand polish

How can I get rid of it ?
