*** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

Does anyone have an inline water filter for their hose or pressure washer? Any recommendations?

Just saw this thread pop-up, any recommendations for a leather conditioner to refresh it a bit? Its BMW Dakota Black leather interior, giving the black a bit of colour depth would be nice.

Autoglym leather cleaner is decent, with those scrubby pads.

If you want something decent, though, get Geist kit from somewhere like clean and shiny. It comes as a pack with cleaner, restorer and protector

recommend me a very good quality microfibre cloth for waterless wash / Quick detailer
low knap and high knap

i like my high knap Korean Eagle Edgeless so i may get some more, but i don't have any "decent" low knap cloths

new car, so i want to protect it as much as i possibly can

thanks
Rag company, the orange ones (eagle I think) are 350 odd gsm and lower pile.

It's mainly to tidy it up before it goes up for sale. I'm not bothered how long it lasts, cheaper the better obviously. :D

Used touchless for the first time today with new MJJC V2. Worked out my PIR at 2% with my set up I need 250ml per litre. Stuck everything on max and ended up firing shaving foam at my car, had to back it off or I could've had snowball fights with what was sitting on my car :D Took about 500ML playing about to cover my car and tbh I didn't need to contact wash but I did. It's about 50 times better than the foam I was using and finally something that helped clean all my plastics.

It certainly didn't kill off my quick beads I put on with the last wash.
Can also vouch for touch-less. I put a pre made amount in a weed sprayer so it's always ready.

The car was absolutely filthy as I've just not had the time recently to clean it, so with that in mind, it was due a decon wash.

2% PIR Touch-Less, 10% dilution of Purifica (in a battery operated foamer which was hard work) and Purifica shampoo. Plus a 1:3 Sidero fall out soak before rinsing and finishing with a pH neutral wash. Topped up with Perfecta Si02.

The paint work is still looking great.

Cheers

yeah i was thinking pearl weave (as per their video , they explain about the pearl)

the plush eagle edgeless (purple ones) i have (for the buffing/removing excess part) they are good !

I'll probably buy the pearl weave ones

Is that all in one foam bottle or separate stages?
Separate stages, the Touch-Less was in a foam cannon but the Purifica isn't as economical so tried a 10% dilution via a handheld battery powered foamer. The foamer isn't that good though so it took a while to do the whole car.

any recommendations for bottle holder to keep in my car?

I'm currently looking at this, but I'm sure I could probably half that price with something else

Just do what I do and throw it in the passenger footwell then complain to yourself when it leaks everywhere :D

Used a large "Seametal" microfibre drying towel (£6) from Aliexpress yesterday and couldn't fault it. I'm by no means a regular car washer / detailer or anything so experience is limited but it soaked up everything in one go from my Focus and left no marks or streaks etc.

Can't see the value in paying £20+ on anything for such towels, not for my needs anyway.

haha

on my old car, i used to have a bungee cord going from hook to hook, from the boot to where the back seat meets i then had a bedside storage organiser hanging from it, Velcro onto the side carpet

i had bottles and cloths in that

my new car has nothing i can do anything like this with lol
