Carling

Carling's like kazakhi wine

And John smiths = beer, Carling = lager ... how did you not notice the colour difference

Anyone who says Corona is nice needs shooting, along with all bud drinkers :o

Nicest beers i've had recently = Fuller's London Pride and Marston's Pedigree... Theakstons version of JS Extra Smooth is the nicest draught "non-real ale" beer IMO :)

carling and stella both £1.60 a pint in my union and its usually one of the cheaper multipacks you can buy in tesco.

Tennants for 99p in the other union. ;) Shame they manage to make it taste worse than usual, mind you Abertay is no better in that regard plus our union seems mostly dead other than lunchtimes.

If I was going to drink bottled beer I'd normally go with Staropramen, Erdinger or maybe Tiger but my tastes vary weekly and also depend on the pub I'm in. :)

What? Corona is lovely. So refreshing. Along the Mexican theme there's also Desperados which is tequila flavoured. Crazy-sweet, you cant really have more than two.

When i was in Sydney there was a bar doing an Oktoberfest thing and they had some Spaten Munchen lager (well a million different types actually). That was $9 for small jug (250ml? ) and was loverly. But at £4.50 for less than a pint i dont think it was quite worth it! *wonders if you can get it over here*

Real ale drinker here, and a fully paid up member of CAMRA, so I'll refrain from posting my thoughts on the various lagers mentioned. :)

Carling is cheap. Only get it if your on a budget.

I prefer Becks (bottle) as my fav larger, either drink that or Magners :p

I will be having a look down in Weatherspoons tomorow and will let you all know if I decide to try Carling.

I'll probably try a few of the guest ales they have going though.

What does it taste like? Can anyone describe it?

I drink John Smiths and was wondering if they was similar or are they completely different?

I hereby declare this the most ludicrously nooby, almost unrealistically "omg-like" question I have ever read. :D

Never tried 1664, didnt really like the taste of grolsch when I had a bottle the other night for the first time, I can drink the odd pint of carling but I really really like fosters and carlsberg export. Fosters is £15.49 for 24x440ml at the moment, before x-mas it was only £9.99, I wish I got myself a crate or 5 now :(

I don't understand all this talk of chemicals whenever Stella is mentioned.

Wouldn't something like a can of coke be just as bad? Or am I missing something...

What a strange bunch you all are.

When you buy carling, fosters, carlsberg, kronenberg, stella - they usually all taste very similar. They all taste like lager. If it tastes like urine its probably because its off or watered down. If you goto a nice pub that respects their clientel and gives you nice fresh lager then they are all pretty tasty. MY favourite is Foster, it has a warm woody taste. You never get that in a can or a wetherspoons though.

If you've having spicy food then there's nothing better than Cobra or Chinese lager. If you've after a fresh light lager then San Miguel, Sol and Corona are pretty good.

Whats Foster? Ive never seen it.

Just want to get an idea of what it tastes like as I don't know whether to try it, but I guess you don't know these things till you try them. lol.

Is this a joke? How can anyone not know the difference between lager and bitter?? On second thoughts, if you were about 12 that would explain it?
