cars you regret getting rid of :(

In a way I do regret getting rid of it, but not.

My old N reg Peugeot 205. Got it when I started learing to drive in 2006 and it was only on 71K but I stopped driving briefly and I did not get the car back on the road until I passed my test in 2008. Mechanically, it was a totally solid car and it only ever let me down once when the fan belt snapped. I never got the car serviced (not even an oil change) for the 3 years that I owned it but it still kept on going and when I got rid of it in 2009 it was on 77K on it. The electrics on the car were poor though, drivers side electric window never went up properly and then one day it decided to fall down the door, The passenger side one was not far off either. The central locking started to pack up as well just before I got rid of it as I had to keep manually locking the rear doors! Lastly the front wipers never went back to a resting position either and just stopped dead on when ever you switched the wipers off! As far as I know it was still on the road for a bit but from what I've gathered it was SORN'd about 6 month's ago, not sure if it has been scrapped though!

1962 Ford Zodiac MkIII 2.6 straight six with column change, bench seats cool looking car (no pics), Bought it for £70 in 1975 and ran it without cost for three years. Very easy to maintain. Raced it in a figure of eight in a moment of madness, write off.

I thought it might be fun to resurrect an old thread as I've never done it before :p. I've owned a lot of cars and not once have I ever suffered from seller's remorse until now.

I've just turned this:

... and now I'm beginning to wonder what on earth I've done. I've just sold a car with 12 months MOT, 6 months tax (+ dirt cheap tax anyway), a perfect main dealer service history, loads of space, excellent handling, reasonable performance and cheap insurance for a pittance simply because I'm too vain to drive an old Focus Estate around any more.

Hope the new owner enjoys her :(.

Can't find a picture, but it was a 1999 Rover 75 2L V6 Club. I know, its an old mans car and a rover but for cruching through motorway miles and generally being relaxed it was an awesome car. Thirsty, but oh so smooth. If I wasn't 28 I'd of kept her.

My CTR is going to be sold next month, going to miss it a lot :( Had it for about 20 months now and taken it over to the Nurburgring twice. Will be driving my old astra for a month or 2 then sell that and get a mk1 MX5 for some cheap rwd fun :) Plan to tweak that quite a bit and finally turbo/supercharge it, so I'm sure a big grin will return to my face fairly soon.

I know in the eyes of OcUK my car choices are crap, slow rotboxes that should be scrapped. :p

But by far, I miss my old 620ti the most. I thought I could replace it, but my current one has nothing on it.

Worst decision ever, should have kept it. 197bhp, TorSen LSD and a really nice half leather Recaro interior.

I wasn't quite sure you were serious given the all of the problems you had with it and the fact that your new car is better in every conceivable way.

I loved it because it was always seen as the underdog, it had character and over time it became MY car. To me it had personality. That and it was very quick and could certainly handle in the corners.

I miss my Lotus Carlton I put a lot of work into it and will never own one again.. Was a real heartbreaker to sell but it went to a good home...
