This part is done:

:D

Well I like it......even if it does remind me that I haven't finished the design for mine yet!

Then go for it and continue modding. ;)

Really nice case look super clean and industrial.

Thanks. :)

Update

I got the waterplate on friday, so I started cutting the case.

therefor I printed the final design and transfered the cutting edges and drill holes to to the Caselabs tray.

Before starting to cut with the angle grinder, another part must be removed.
Therefor I just need to drill some rivets.

SMA8_WiPl072.jpg

The rough cuttings were done using the angle grinder, small cuts by Dremel.

last step: final shaping by using some files.

Fits:

I also give it a try in the case, fits very well and looks pretty cool.

Ok, so that's in-block res, pump 1, pump 2, pump 3, pump 4 (yes, count 'em!), 480 rad, back into the block in the bottom left corner to go across and I'm not sure from there....but presumably at some point it'll connect to the things that get hot :D

For those of us who's block doesn't exist outside of SketchUp, what sort of dimensions are you block layers and how big have you made the channels?

Bottom left goes to the 560er + 280er radiators. ;)
I can upload a sketch the next days if you want. ;)
But no time at the moment.

This is an amazing build, I have said it before I know, but great job mate.

Your build will be very unique indeed; I consider myself wholly inspired!

Cheers
Ras

Thank you Sir. :)

Update:

I continued with a provisional mount of everything.

Mounted the motherboard tray again:

Tets fit of the four D5 pumps:

SMA8_WiPl077_1.jpg

The first tubes were easy, tubes for pumps and VGAs are just straight tubes, much more demanding were the curved tubes:

SMA8_WiPl082.jpg

If I just bent the tubes with my tool, the radius is too big, I had to improvise with bending by hand and things I've found:

After a few attempts...

it fits:

After that I dissambled everything to assamble the waterplate itself :)

Leaktest for 20h, seems to leak out . :)

Yesterday I polished the tubes and today I shiped them to a get nickel plated.

Thats it for now :):)

I got my tubes back from nickel plating, it is sooo shiny

I give them a final polish and assembled it.

Stunning and insane in equal measure.

4 D5s is enough to blow minds.

Impressive to say the least. :)

Excellent choice for the nikel plating, looking amazing.

Thank you a lot for these kind words. <3

Looking good (but eyewateringly expensive!)

What fittings are you using for the copper pipe and what size is the pipe?

I used Bitspower Multi-Link Adapters (BP-MBWP-C47 & BP-MBWP-C48)

Update:

For the cable management I used some custome cable combs. Of course made by Gosumodz.

If you are at the Gamescom in Cologne at the moment, you can visit the booth of Mifcom to take a look at this project. ;)

Some more work in progress in pics will follow. ;)

Hey,
sorry for this long waiting time.
I wasnt really motivated the last months to finish this mod and didnt check the forums.
Meanwhile I'm done

Would you mind sharing how much you paid for the nickel plating and where you got this done?

I'm going to be using copper in my next build.

What is the bending radius on your tool?

I'm going to use this...

It has a bending radius of 35.8mm. I figured that would be fine without needing to improvise...

I didnt pay that much. I think round about 20€. I think my bending radius is nearly the same.

drool drool very nice indeed ,
I've got my Caselabs SMA8 coming this week and I really like the sLight nice touch and thanks for the link I will take a look.

Day

Have fun with this nice case. :)

this is awesome, I thought the shiny copper looked good and suited the Monochrome theme, until you nickel plated those shiny rods! They looks absolutely fantastic!

I cant wait to see the end build

Thank you. :)
