I want too sell my crossfire 6970s because of AMDs lack of promptness on new releases.

My problem is, there is no single card solution that will come close to the performance my 6970s offer in some games!

I am pretty impressed that they have a solid driver for BF3 though.

Bah, I have been playing Rage since the day it came out. It works fine in one card only (doesn't drop from 60 fps) and haven't had any glitches.

Just be aware the SLI doesn't work for Rage at all, and at least AMD has made some progress (with the 11.11) to fix that.

Skyrim I haven't got so I can't comment but I thought that had some issues with both platforms.

Haven't seen it anywhere else in this thread. 11.11 CAP2 is out and guess what still no Skyrim support. Getting kind of annoyed now will be getting rid of my 5850s soonish.

I disable windows aero on most games regardless.

Find the Game.exe Properties, Compatibility tab, Tick Disable desktop composition. Then aero will be disabled when the game starts and then re-enabled again when the game is closed.

There's a flaw in your method it would seem. It doesn't switch back to aero when the game closes.

It should do, I've tried it just now with Skyrim and it went off and back on again.

Always goes back for me.

What game/games have you tried it on ?

Its meant to go back like everything in the compatibility tab is meant to switch back after the app has closed.

Check in task manger to see if the exe is still running in the background.

I'll try it again now. Last night I couldn't get aero back at all, having to reboot in the end.
