Cat abuse - Kenny Glenn

killing for food is a natural instinct... killing/harming for the fun of it is just cruel

Indeed indeed, meat is in our blood, it's what we are will always be regardless of what some people say.

Killing for food is one thing, the animals are slain properly and given a quick death and such animals are raised to be food as they have done for hundreds of thousands of years but blatant cruelty to helpless animals that are domesticated and that live among is not the norm and calls for a severe investigation/solution to prevent it going beyond just poor animals (which is bad enough...).

You're welcome. How did you expect to post that with that tone and not be picked up on it?

I confess, it's hard to assess when people are not being serious when a smilie is absent.

I was serious, there's a handful of people in this thread that I'd worry about far more than someone who roughed up a cat.

And I doubt cat lovers here condone that either, what... you want us to make a dozen threads a day for all the chinese cats that die just to prove that we also care about those?

This is madness!

Ha.

The point I was trying to make and which obviously went completely over your head, was that the video is evoking a disproportionate reaction as unnecessary cruelty and pain towards animals happens on a far larger scale all the time.

The kid obviously wanted a reaction and by the internet over reacting he has won. Logitech will probably see a decent sales increase also by the sound of some of these posts:p

The amount of criticism has has recieved will go quite a way in ensuring that he understands he has done 'a bad thing'. Whether this will have any effect on him or not, who knows, we can only speculate.

Exactly my point.

The criticism could affect him, I'm not doubting that possibility.

However unless he goes to jail (which I seriously don't think he will) then I believe the criticism he has recieved alone won't make any difference. He intended to upload that video anyway, he must have known what was coming. Or maybe he was naive and didn't anticipate the scale of the criticsm.

GD always ends up like this.... gets boring after a few threads to be honest.

*Tips hat*

Excellent....decent discussion has ended up with people taking it way out of context in the most ridiculous of ways (Sounds like 4chan and the issue in the OP). If you are looking for an argument for the sake of it, please go make another thread entitled "All those who want to engage in a pointless discussion which will end up with the same old people talking carp, arguing semantics and thread derailment: Please post here"

Oh and:

"You're an idiot this, idiot that" = personal insult = against forum rules.

Just because people disagree with you/have differing opinion, doesn't make them an idiot. Infact it makes you small minded for thinking that they are an idiot and how you thought that, just because it is your opinion, it must be better/correct.

That's all I'm going to say and hope the usual suspects cut it out.

I agree with 'Energize' on this one, to many hypocrites in this thread, if you discuss vegetarianism on this board many meat eaters will say that animals don't have feelings or are unaware of their poor living conditions etc but hurt a little cat and they are all out trying to justify why it's wrong.

I can guarantee without a doubt that every meat eater on here has indirectly contributed to worse animal cruelty that we've seen in that video due to creating a demand for meat as a source of food.

There is one thing that makes me laugh more than the hypocrisy of some of these meat eating animal lovers though, and that is the meat eating environmentalists, don't they realise that the meat industry is the number one killer on the environment above all other industries in the world, so your not only contributing to mass killing of animals in a time where it's been proven that a good balanced vegetarian diet is healthier for you, but your also contributing towards destruction upon our environment at an unprecedented scale.

All this becuase they are either still stuck in the past and believe that meat is an essential part of our diet, or just becuase they like the taste of it.

I truly believe that in the future meat eaters will be in the minority, I think abstaining from eating meat is part of our evolutionary process, it may be hard for some people to understand that right now being that meat is such an integral part of our food industry today but it will happen, it's really hard to argue the case for meat these days.

<puts on flame proof jacket and runs for the hills>

I'm glad I won't be around when that happens :).

Well, I agree with you partly but in doing so, am admitting to being a hypocrite myself.

I do eat meat & eggs occassionally, although it is from free range chickens and cows/pigs within this country.

Animal farming does cause environmental destruction indirectly or directly in other countries as seen in this link:
