In buying the meat you are resulting in more animals being killed to meet demand, that is an inescapeable fact.

I don't deny it, however I eat meat on an almost daily basis and have never personally committed an act of violence against a cow, pig, chicken, etc.

The suggestion that eating = killing or assault is complete twaddle, its two seperate acts. Now I'll agree that one facilitates the other, but eating steak doesn't make ME a killer of animals.

It's irrelevant to the end result.

I don't really get the point of this statement...

What are you on about ?

If you are a vegetarian then that is fine.

However, don't post complete and utter rubbish saying that people who eat meat should feel guilty about it and don't have the right to feel any emotion about an animal being abused.

It means that while it doesn't make you a physco like the kid in the video because you are shielded from the act of killing, what you are buying results in the killing of animals, which is worse than what he did. Well if you consider killing to be worse than assault anyway, which I do.

Sorry, where did I say anything like that? I said the exact opposite in my first post.

killing for food is a natural instinct... killing/harming for the fun of it is just cruel

no, youre an idiot...

hes clearly doing it for attention and the uproar of people fighting against this is clearly going to make others think before following in his footsteps

certainly taught this little **** a lesson.

Erm, no its not. You have no idea whether a "lesson has been taught". You're just speculating and hoping.

Its unknown whether he actually anticipated all the attention that he's recieved.

Alternatively, the attention may be gratifying to him and he may do it again as a direct result.

Either way, the internet mob has guaranteed nothing. You're acting like this is something new.

"this is clearly going to make others think before following in his footsteps", yeah, of course it is mate. Also, you fail at arguing for using personal insults and capitals.

OK I kinda get where you're coming from, but I think there is another way of looking at this.

Farm animals are bred to be slaughtered, pets are bred to be cared for and nurtured.

Now both this facts are just statements of intent really - the animals don't know what their future holds. However if the cat has been well treated (at least by the rest of the family) up until this point, then the sudden change in his care will be a cruel and damaging shock and is a failure in his human family (or certain members at least) in their duty of care to this creature.

The cow is going to be well fed and well looked after up until the 'ZAP' which it is unlikely to see coming.

So you could argue that whilst the cow has been killed in the end it has lived a happy life up until that point and has probably not suffered. The cat on the other hand has been cruelly mistreated and suffered a nasty assault at the hands of those who are supposed to care for it - and from whom it would only be expecting loving treatment.

The cat will die eventually as well of course, but if it's life is miserable and the cows is happy - which would you say has been treated better?
