Cat people... Heat

happens if theres still a bit of ovarian tissue in there

our cat does it every now and again. she also still thinks shes a mum sometimes and carrys socks too her bed before 'cleaning' them

One of our 'girls' has definately been done as she's 4, but she gets more affectionate at this time of year, rubbing herself up against you and making little cheeping noises, with her tail in the air, so it should be all right. I would play it safe and call the vet though, just to put your mind at rest.
 
Other half will be calling the vets today for some advice.

Was reading up and when they remove the ovaries sometimes ovarian cells can remain and kick things off during a season.

I'm hoping this is just a one off episode and not something that will be repeated in a few weeks time.
 
We had our cat done so she no longer does this, but before she was done, she drove me insane with the meowing and sexual harassment she gave anything and anyone.

One thing I would say is that dont let her out, as some cats have AIDS and you woundnt want her to catch that and have a limited life. Its just not worth it.
 
You shouldn't really have a cat spayed before its first time in heat as it can cause problems with growth iirc, also with her being young the spaying might not have fully taken so take her to the vet and get her checked out.

Don't think they have.

Other half called the vets today and said they might have to open her up again to examine.

Poor little thing won't like that. She found it really stressful last time.:(

This was from the vets that removed the stitches only to find two stitches remaining once we got home. Had to take her back to get them removed.
