It does work. Even better is to fill an old (or buy a cheap) water pistol with your own urine and if you can catch the cat in the act spray the little *******. It wont come near your garden again once you have "scented it".

Just remember to put the water pistol well away from the kids when your not using it.



Also works on chavs and hoodies :D
 
Buy a bigger cat. It'll crap everywhere but your garden, and hopefully keep other cats off it's turf.

Good to hear the wee on the garden thing works. Just have to decant into a bottle first. I don't think the neighbours will appreciate me spraying the garden from the source so to speak ;)

Maybe try smearing mustard around the perimeter of your garden? It has many uses, maybe this is another one.
 
Hit the cat with a spade and dump it by the side of the road on your way to work. Everyone will assume it got run over. Job done.

Or buy a tiger.
 
A water pistol/rifle with decent range is a good deterrent - and not blatantly deadly like some of the suggestions in here!

You just need to blast it whenever you see it. Cats are usually quick learners.

Those sonic deterrents are a load of junk. We got one once to try and stop our cat crapping in the middle of the lawn. First day we turned it on, cat promptly took a dump right in front of it!
 
Get a cheap anti bird net and cover your garden with it
If you think this won't look nice(eg. you have a decorative garden), you can try scaring the cat away a couple of times, after a while they stopped coming, usually just opening the door or tapping the window makes them run away, if not a water hose is also a solution.

Can always get a dog too :D.
