Tom ought to send me the new beta's so he can report problems on games he doesn't have

BTW, I have isolated the poor performance in iL2 to land shading, don't know if its a hardware or driver problem but this is whats killing framerates, drop it down a level in the conf.ini for il2 1946 and its performing as one would expect, pass it on please Tom

As well as a request for returrn of 6x regular aa

Still no joy playing replays in GTL or GTR2, still BSOD with atiduag as listed offender.

No gains for me in my native res, but 7.8 beta just feel a bit more sorted, not noticed as many desktop issues.

I have been nagging for a 6xAA Box resolve I'd love it also. You can report your issue via the link in my signature, this is where beta testers also submit there feedback.

are the beta 7.8's, the 8.40 package or the 8.41 tom mentioned.

not anything noticed in terms of performance increase in the games i play on my x1900xt with 7.8 BUT i can confirm at under vista64 stability is deffo better.

get a lot less crashing in colin mcrae dirt and battlefield 2 is more stable. starting to enjoy vista64 gaming now a bit.

My mate installed these, and says that his fan seems to be working properly now. With other drivers, his fan didn't spin up at all :confused:

I'm thinking of forgetting about a 2nd hd2600xt and getting a 2900xt in the states in a few weeks

then when I get back I should have the official 7.8's and Bioshock to play about with!

I do like this driver set, very nice play on my hd2600xt with oblivion

i don't get why 7.7 is so badly messed up. they could be pulling an asda on them:

e.g have goods for normal price (7.6), then before sale slap up the price (7.7), then drop price to be little less than normal price (7.8) and the difference between 7.8 and 7.7 is massive, but not that much so compared to 7.6

Get an 8800GTX in the states lol, bet that are as cheap as the 2900's here.

Reloading the background image cures it.

from what iv read, the 2 vista patches floating around seem to solve that issue.

It's not really as simple as that I don't think.

I think you have to get one of the current testers to put in a good word for you.

guys, I just noticed that the 7.8s beta has the same horrible problem of shutdown XP SP 2 and 2900XT than the 7.6's

im using a HIS, and if you leave the computer idle for more than 2 hours ( monitor shutdowns ) the computer wont return from the standbymode. it will simply freeze and shutdown ( I suspect it bsods and freezes..) and only doing a hard reset works.

also most studdering in CS source is gone, but its still there in a few ammount of maps, no idea what causes this.

also.. theres some video corruption with the 7.8's, there seems to be some flickering in certain videos in the top of them..
specially in DIVX based videos.
