disable standby mode? i never use it, all i use is the monitor power off. no need to do all the stand by malarky, better off doing a full shutdown.

i hope the catalyst 7.8 final will fix the slow menu issue in crossfire mode in Lost Planet Extreme Condition. it was fixed when i was using 1 card...

this is a thought. this seems to be the first catalyst beta driver iv seen discussed on the forums for a very long time. wonder why other drivers don;t get discussed like this one before they come out? :confused:

Slower for gaming? Its about the same for me, and once you disable all the crap in Vista it's no longer a control freak

he is probably flapping it from the user account control

man thats the first thing i turned off, its just way too annoying.

Tried these drivers, seemed to have sorted out the issue i was having with ET:QW but now it crashes/vpu recovery after about 4 mins when playing ET doesnt matter which map after 4 mins its crashes my system.

did set it to "never shutdown"
and it still happens, any other ideas why cause this? :/

only happens in cat 7.6 and cat 7.8 betas.. 7.7 had it fixed, but they horrible studdering in CS source.

very odd that, i don;t get that problem with 7.6 driver, and 7.7 i never tried. come to think of it i never got that problem on xp x64 either. (currently on vista64)

I'm using the 7.8s with my HIS 2900 and have my monitors to turn off after 20 mins I leave my system on over night and its allways fine in the morning, I'm not having any problems with the system locking up and restarting, so maybe its a power management setting in your BIOS thats the cause.

Also has anyone elses idles temps risen as mine has gone up from 45 to 56 which is quite a sizeable increase for no apparent reason...

i only use the seetings in game itself on css soo i have every tning maxed oout as high as it will go in the advanced video section 6xmsaa 16af hdr blah blah blah lol and i get 140fps on my e6700 @ 3.3 with a 1950pro oh and im using 7.3 drivers

you do have a higher graphic setting than me thogh as i assume you use ccc to set yours. still allowing for a 40fps rate drop from your higher settings i more tha happy with my core

Yh its HQ af and 12xaa with adaptive AA which is super sampling and multisampling.

That 06 score isn't bad, thats almost rival to my x1900xt, and the 2600xt is a fair bit cheaper!

Yeah well mines is a fair bit cheaper for sure since its a DDR3 one

Gonna keep this and decide at the end of the month whether I should just go for a second one or upgrade to a 2900xt or something

Typical, these drivers sort out a few probelsm i was having with games, ET:QW and call of jaurez shadows, but it naffs up Enemy Territory which i play the most.

They are beta's though ;P

No doubt for the final release at the end of the month these will be really a good set
