I got a hole in my ceiling, only that I caused it (lost balance)

No builders/plasterers on 'ere then?
Just wanting to find out if my quote of £500 is unrealistic and it's going to be a shoddy job. I thought it would be much more.

Nah. Your only really paying for the labour. Materials for that job wouldn't cost much at all especially at trade prices.

Good to see it's fixed. Just needs some paint now!
 
In my parents house I was getting the crimbo decorations down when I slipped off the beam, my legs went through the ceiling and all my mum could see was me shaking my legs as they where hanging through the ceiling. To my surprise she never went mental, she actually laughs, arguments frequently brake out in my parents house due to things such as abit of dirt on the carpet, this was plasterboard all over my room and she laughed wtf!????
 
What's up with that? I'm a 20 year old student and "own" a flat (mortgage but I don't see what age has to do with anything...).

Generally speaking most students do not have a £20-30k deposit and enuogh money to pay a mortgage every month whilst studying full time :p
