Census 2021

Ooops.

I had someone from the census at the door, it turns out after filling it in and leaving it for the rest of the household to check to make sure tehy were happy with the answers I forgot to press submit:p

So they are checking it:p

Do you have an objection to Census officers visiting properties that don't appear to have completed the Census, even though it's a legal requirement? Most people will have a genuine reason but there always the 1 in 10000 chance there will be a 'I'm a freeman of the land and I don't use the title Mr because the government give me that title' and all that guff.

Nobody's going to be forceful about it, but it's their job to establish the reasons behind it. The non-compliance team aren't starting for another 8 weeks, so.nobody's going to be fined or anything yet.

Yeah I didn’t do mine and somebody knocked last week and told me if it’s not done in the next week they will be back with a £1000 fine, absolute joke, needless to say I filled it in but they now see me as as tea pot , working as a toothpaste lid screwer oner with the emotion of a stick of a rock, they didn’t say anything about getting a fine for giving the wrong answers lol

Why is it an ‘absolute joke’, do you think you’re above the law?

“It is an offence to supply false information or to not complete the census, and you could be fined up to £1,000.”

It’s an absolute joke because why the heck do they need to know what relationship I have with my step kids, what disability they have and how it affects their day to day. If you want to tell everyone all your personal information then by all means bend over for ever Tom dick and Harry

So they can provide the right services/make the right investments based on the specific situations of people in the area? Take you tin foil hat off and fill it in. The world is not out to get you.

My partner has been fighting the council for years to get her autistic daughter a ehcp so she can get the basic help she needs in school and she has many doctors letters that have been directly written to the council stating she has to have it and they still won’t do it. we’re over a year behind even filling in potholes. Every service the government provide is under funded.
If you think for one second they do it so they can provide the best services then your clearly delusional!
I fail to see in any situation in which the government would need to know what my step daughter calls me to provide a better service lol
Some people just like to keep intimate details intimate not spread it for everyone to take a look at, all my medical details are on record, all my taxes and job details are on record, I have a passport and driving licence so I fail to see what else they really need to know

Someone convince to be fill the Census form out please.

I was busy and didn't fill it out and I've subsequently had 3 three Census 'officers' come to my home, the last one today got really ***** with me threatening me saying that I'll be fined etc, these visits have really not helped persuade me to fill the form out, quite the opposite in fact, these census officers remind me the Night watchmen on Babylon 5, now I'm not usually the "I'm a free human being of this land!" type but they way in which the government has asked us to fill out this forum under the pretence of being fined and receiving a criminal record doesn't sit well with me at all.

Simply put I just don't think it's right that the government is forcing people to fill out this form in a threatening manner, like I said, It doesn't sit well with me, mainly I don't feel comfortable filling it in as I feel I'm supporting a methodology that I wholly oppose. I understand compliance is sensible and important it many different situations, for example if your driving a car for of course it should be insured, Taxed, MOT'd etc, you should have to produce documents if stopped by a Police officer, completely agree in these types of scenarios, the paper trail makes sense and is required, but this feels very different, the form is asking questions that are personal in nature and I don't see I should be forced to divulge that information or receive a criminal record.
