CES 2025 AMD & Nvidia Keynote Live Chat [06/01/25]

pinned note from GN:
AMD didn't talk about its GPUs in the keynote for whatever reason, but they did officially detail them to the press. No idea why they'd do it that way. Either way, the info we have on the 9070 series is straight from AMD, so I guess that's your announcement! Strange choices by them!

Something odd here. Watch hardware unboxed video released a few seconds ago. Says AMD just announced 9070!

Clearly a change in plans.

waiting for nvidia to present and have prices shown... then AMD prices $50 less... this is AMD now... nothing more than a duopoly behaving in a manner to mislead their customers while they artificially raise prices together and make it seem all normal..

Just wait for it.. $50 less for same spec/performance nvidia version minus all the nvidia extras..DLSS etc etc..

Why would they announce the biggest news to youtubers and ignore it on their main stage in front of 70 thousand people on the eve of their competitors announcement, madness.
Because their best GPU this gen doesn't beat the 7900xt? All they would be doing is announcing a price cut. Then the stores would have to drop prices on 7000 series for couple of months until the new GPUs actually launch.

Nvidia could also destroy them if they get the price wrong.

People get so hyped up by fake news and leaks these days.

It's double irony because the biggest haters of AI and frame gen etc (and no offence intended) were from the AMD crowd, and today AMD showed them an entire CES key note dedicated to talking about AI :p

Talk about a slap to the face.

What about FSR 4, Improved RT and improved price point. It would be a standard release. Doing it like this has no benefit, other than making their fans/potential customers angry.

Read the room their top GPU is no better than the 7900xt.

The only people angry are those hoping they would force Nvidia to drop prices.

The downside now is that nvidia have just watched that too and given NV card pricing can be announced the very same hour of launch, they now know that AMD have nothing for months, so can price the 5080 at whatever they want and take a massive lead.
