CES 2025 AMD & Nvidia Keynote Live Chat [06/01/25]

We know that nothing AMD offer will come anywhere close to the 5080, so all nvidia have to do is watch the AMD event, then price the 5080 in a competitive way so thrash whatever AMD propose at their event. Instant win, gamers are happy to get excellent bang for buck for once and the 5080 sells out for months. Wishful thinking but this would genuinely get people onboard instead of backing away from crazy pricing.

For the UK the nvidia is not at a great time huh. looking forward to being wowed with all the tech at CES, wonder if we can afford any of it though. Price vs perormance will be an interesting one to see where it lands up and down the heirarchy

Looks like AMD dropped the ball already. Latest FSR to support 9XXX cards only from the leaked slide deck. Nice way to reward those who bought a 7 series card.

And how are the older cards meant to support it if the newer rdna4 has on chip hardware for it that the others don't? Amd have been very backwards compatible with fsr, so there's obviously a good reason for the change.

not long ago the army of amd apologists were taking an aim at nvidia for not supporting frame gen on older gpus, i think we need to apply the same standards to amd for the sake of consistency

That all depends on what's doable and what isn't. If the older gpus simply don't have the hardware for it and it's a new approach then that's fine, if it's some sneaky software lockout then thats bs, regardless of manufacturer.

I’m up at 04:50 for work so I’ll catch up tomorrow. Hoping the release date for the 5090 isn’t too far off and on one of my days off so I can get a order in before they all sell out.
