Champions League 16th/17th *Spoilers*

Why the hell was Carrick sent off?

It was Evra that kicked the ball away, you even saw in the replay Carrick wasn't anywhere near it... he even asked "What for mate?" to the ref?

Good victory, we should have held on to 3-1 to be honest... Nani was so wasteful it was just ridiculous... Rooney stole the show for us with Valencia playing very well when he came on.

Really want to know what Carrick did/didn't do though...

Stoke with a goal ruled out in the 96th min, wrongly according to the radio too!

As bad a decision as you will ever see. The referees are deciding who wins matches these days and not the players. On that performance from Man City though Liverpool have nothing to worry about as far as 4th place is concerned.

Can you appeal a sending off from two yellow cards in the Champions League?

I remember with Fletcher last year they said you can only appeal a case of mistaken identity (hence why we couldn't appeal the card and Fletch missed the final last year).

nani didnt get one cross near its target player. valencia comes on first cross rooneys head.

He was one of the worst but tbh I think rooney's head wasn't right in the first 1/2. I am pretty sure that Nani got 1 very good cross in and Rooney turned around and starting moaning about it.

England fans: Should beckham be in the england squad? The guy offers nothing from play...

I've only saw a brief replay of the sending off incident. It does look like Carrick flicks it away.

Very harsh though.

The replay Sky Sports showed during the game was Evra running away with the ball and Fergie/Carrick both confused as to why Carrick was sent off. Fergie actually thought Evra had been sent off from what I saw.

Just saw the reply on SSN... Carrick flicked it on - fair enough - a bit soft I guess but can't really complain about it.
