Champions League 16th/17th *Spoilers*

Ronaldinho seems to have buckled down recently and his play reflects that, thought he was brilliant last night for most of the game

Yep have to say i agree...dont know what happened to him while at Barca...he had a few good seasons then went to pot...guess his attitude was complacent but hes still a very good player when he puts his mind to it.

Was hoping Man Utd would have lost but 3-2 isnt too bad...winning at the San Siro is hard enough and having 3 away goals puts them in the driving seat as i cant really see AC beating Utd at home but im hoping they do...Seedorfs goal was pretty nifty i have to admit....Rooney was amazing last night though.

As for tonight??..well missing quite a few players so dont expect us to win...probably a draw or worst still a loss...i dont have much hope for Arsenal in the CL this yr...the fact that our defence truly sucks and havent got the killer touch in front of goal is going to be the difference. I just hope to God that Denilson and Walcott dont start...its about time Wenger realised that those 2 are pretty much useless.

.

even a narrow home loss in the return leg would see Utd though fortunately - unless it was a very high scoring game of course (3-4 or more)

Personally cant see that happening - unless Utd start REALLY slowly like they did last night

3 ***** weeks because of this new tv schedule from UEFA /FIFA I believe

I have to say its crazy for Europa League to be playing on the same night as CL - Im sure viewing figures will be down because of it across the board (rather than improving which is what they wanted after spreading the matches out further)

at least carrick will be suspended for a few games. gives us a chance to do more without having to drag his deadweight from place to place.

He misses only one fixture, the return game at Old Trafford vs Milan. It was an incredibly harsh red card. That said, the referee gave Milan everything last night, what's one more bad decision on top of plenty of others.

Fantastic result, horrific performance from quite a few players. VDS has kept us in the Champions League and Rooney played very well, would never have seen him scoring two headers against an Italian defence. I felt Valencia should have come on sooner and for that utterly useless waste of space Park. He did absolutely sweet **** all for 90 minutes. We effectively played with 10 men the whole match. I challenge anyone to actually point out what Park offers us, as it certainly isn't defensive performances which fans like to laud him with and offensively.... haha don't make me laugh.

ive said it before, namely when we played on icier pitches... park has no technique or control. he is probably our least gifted attacking player.

sure he works hard but whe you play a 5 man midfield - your not looking for exceptional workrate (and nothing else) from them, you have fletcher and co for that, you need your wide players to be creative, instrumental, direct and make chances, if ultimately not score them themselves...

Are you serious Nick?

err... yes... having carrick is like having another fletcher - but who can pass, but then also loses all ability to run, tackle, etc. thats why you'll never see as many carrick shirts as you will, Keano, scholes, giggs, etc. Infact id go so far as to say, even at this stage in his career, when you see Paul Scholes he absolutely puts carrick to shame in almost every aspect of his game.

Very true (although its possible due to the above Anderson would have granted them even more possession - and they must have had 70% + easy in the 1st half)

??

United had 55% possession in the first half.
And more possession overall.

There we go stats fans.

Carrick, Scholes, Evans (not surprisingly) and Ferdinand were bloody awful last night.
Evans in particular didnt even look pub standard despite the fact that he was under no pressure what so ever for the most part.

Reading those stats, even though United gave the ball away god knows how many times and were all over the place, They actually managed to have a higher pass success rate than AC.
Baffling.
