Pretty sure Barca will win it again this year unless they play Chelsea and they ruin football again. Nobody is near to Barca in football terms.
Arsenal better watch out : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulk_(footballer)
too busy playing in the snow to care, be back in to find out and discuss it when it's dark
They haven't been as convincing this year, they are being over romanticized a tad, sure you could name them favourites but to say nobody is near them? I wouldn't say that.
Porto will be fine for Arsenal, they've never won a CL game in England have they?
I've watched most of the Barca games this year and for most of the games they appear to just try to score the perfect goal every time, they don't really seem to care that there is an opponent on the field. Some of their play (between Ibra and Messi) has been sensational

There's obvious pros and cons to only playing one way (Barca's way). There are very few tall, powerful and muscular players who have the technique of Iniesta/Xavi/Messi etc, it seems that the players with low centres of gravity can have excellent technique if trained properly. The pros are that it's beautiful to watch, even if it doesn't work every single time, who really cares when you're being entertained anyway? It's a very romantic ideal to just play one way and stuff everybody else, it's a bit arrogant but I love it.
With Ibra there is a definite improvement up front, he is excellent at holding the ball up or distributing play, much, much better than Eto'o was. I was a critic of the fee they paid for Ibra (still am) but I have to admit that he really has come into his own and is very, very good in this Barca team. He will allow them to play different ways now when they need to, but to be honest I can only really think of one team that can defend against their normal triangle play and that's Chelsea.
I agree, I think also it's down to the coaching / way young players are taught to play football at a club like Barca, and just in general, they're taught that its not about been the fastest, strongest, you can make up for this with good feet.
Playing one way is an arrogant way of playing, but it's winning them things at the moment.
Eto'o wasn't a all round striker though was he? He was a goal scorer? iirc scored 30 goals a season for a fair few years didn't he?
I can't see the sense in the money they paid for Ibra as well, but I admit he's brought a lot more to the table then Eto'o could. He's a head for all those Dani Alves crosses He's just a immensly talented footballer, who like Messi got slated by Andy Gray "because he doesn't do it against English clubs"
Yeah to be honest, the game is football and it should be decided by how good you are with the ball at your feet, I have always thought that. Over the last few years though pace and power have really taken over and all people care about is how tall and physically strong your team are (see the papers every day criticising Arsenal, it's pathetic). Sometimes I wonder if they're confusing football with rugby.
Yeah Eto'o was a goal scorer and I probably worded my post wrong, I think they're a more complete strike force now, whether or not they're better is hard to tell.
Ibra has caught me by surprise a bit, he seems to be at the same level as Messi in terms of vision, touch and movement. They're on the same page and I'd probably soil myself if I had to play against them. Still, what they paid for him was just too much for any footballer and I'll maintain that ..
