"Chav" encounter

Depends entirely on who you're fighting. I got beaten up on a snow day about two years by some generic 'chav(s)'; it was against someone my age/height/size and I lost but the worse that came of that was a few bruises.

Me going up against some drunken person (for example) whose much bigger than me? No chance.

At least getting owned taught me a valuable lesson to never do anything like that again. I got off lucky.

Very true! Don't get me wrong though, running away is always a viable option too. I know that if I was on my own and two or three of the idiots started then I'd seriously consider just scarpering. No point in getting pounded into next week for the sake of retaining your dignity, and anyway you can always make up that you battered them on the internet later. :D

uv - most won't admit it though!

I know I lose it when I fight, why I was a bad boxer and awful in karate competitions. Most of the proper scrappers on here will tell you - if you can't control your temper you won't win against a scrapper :)

It depends entirely on the situation - the aim should be to get as least harmed as possible.

Yeah but, like I said above, running away is always an option too. However, in the situation that the OP found himself in then why would any man run away or not defend themselves?

I wasn't there, so I couldn't possibly comment. I wouldn't say that running away would be a bad thing - I gain pride in other ways.

Ah, I've actually read the OP now. Similar thing happened to me, guy on parole (although I found out that detail later) asking for a phone, (no lie). I just gave him the thing, no point arguing over it, plus it's some cheap thing. I even got it back.

Fuss over nothing to be honest.

The most important thing is you learn from the experience.

My advice for next time, is to just keep walking. Chances are after a few hundreds yards they would have left you alone.

As far as justifing why you didn't get physical, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I know many 6 footers who would have done the same. Some people just have the mentality for fighting and some don't, simple as.

where jamesdavid when u need him. u could teach the OP basic jujitsu and take on 3-4 guys with a dog

Glad i never really had trouble with chavs. Its normally the drunk (or pretending to be) girls who hurl the abuse while the blokes all look at the floor and tell them to shut up.

Got called Frankenstein the other day. I wondered as i walked by if they even knew who Frankenstein was.

Course they do. Its a bloke wot looks like you, innit.

I'm reminded of a vid i saw on youtube, some happy slapping gone wrong.

Chav slaps this bird, while his mate films it on his mobile. Bird's boyfried proceeds to lay chav out in one.

Was pretty funny.

Well, I haven't had one of these for a while. Usually you can keep away from them or if they start talking you can walk off and they get bored.

A male and female friend and I were walking back home not too long ago when we encountered two guys at a bridge. They were requesting that we got our phone out so that they could use it to text some friends - apparently they hadn't teamed up and by pure coincidence, the one guy had no text and the other had no battery left on his phone (he showed me and it did indicate a low battery). Now excuse me for being suspicious but it did seem like they wanted to steal a phone here. So we refused, they kept insisting and wouldn't let us leave.

The one guy became increasingly aggressive and kicked my friend in the nuts. Around this time my friend gave £1 to them so that they could use it on a payphone. But they didn't like this idea, they also didn't like the idea of reverse charging. The other guy who actually needed to text was quite polite really in a very intimidating manner. My female friend kept the aggressive guy away as he seemed interested in her - he even attempted to kiss her but she managed to restrain him. It's fortunate she was there as he was threatening various things amongst bottling us (they obviously had been drinking and one had a bottle in his hand). The "polite" guy offered to give me his "draw", house keys and phone so that in the event they did do something dodgy I would have some possession/s of theirs - I politely declined.

Anyway to cut a long story short - in the end their friend gave them a text message which backed up their story. So I offered to send the text as long as they remained at a safe distance, I did so and they got a call back and we were sent on our way.

(Sorry for the block of text!)

You run through options in your mind, like whether to hit out but this could have made the situation worse especially if they had knives (they didn't show any). Could have been much worse I guess, but it's never pleasant. Plus I didn't have my keyboard with me. ;)

Edit: The girl told me later on that the aggressive guy had told her he had apparently only just been let out of jail and was on parole. He was meant to be home by 7pm.

Sucks mate. Sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel any better, I got one back for the decent folks the other night. Some dole rat scumbag, started on me and my mate last Friday night in Crouch End, London. He kept insisting that we give him money to put credit on his phone. We politely declined and even offered to ring the number for him to sort out his lift home. He became aggressive and I whacked a bottle over his head. Yes yes, I know, chavy, but the only language these trash understand.

Sorry bro but I do get emotional over these things, so emotional, its like PMS only worse.

I was not comparing the OP to Mike Tyson, I was merely pointing out that lack of height is not an automatic debilitating issue. Tyson was much shorter than the majority of his opponents.

P annoyed people aren't down with da quotin, are u dumb, obv i am bro!
