Chav parents feed kids fish and chips through gates

These parents should be done for child abuse.

Well I wouldn't go that far. If feeding kids is child abuse then things really have gone to the dogs.

30 minutes is not enough time simple as. If they are queuing for a large chunk of that then they are going to take shortcuts and eat what they can and while I don't really support being given junk food through the gates, I can understand why to a certain point.

When I was at school, I played a lot of sport and we often did circuits, fitness tests and compulsory running and school dinners were similar then but a lot of onus was placed on excercise. I had computer games then, as they do now, but I also played a lot of sport and general keep fit stuff and that was encouraged by good schooling and good parenting.

As for delivering from a cemetery, I don't find that appropriate.

I am not sure if chav parents is a fitting description or perhaps generalising ?

exactly, 30 mins is NOT a lunchbrake. if they where at work they would be getting long than that for lunch!
there needs to be atleast an hour (maybe an hour and a half) and sports available during their free time (and encoraged to play).

I think perhaps the school has gone about dieting the wrong way. Obviously the kids will eat what they want and the parents resent the school telling them what it is they ought to be eating. If I was the head, I would incorporate more physical education and try to teach-not shove it down their throats, the benefits of eating a bit more healthily.

30 minutes to queue, be served, get seated, eat... then what? When I was at school we would have time to eat our lunch and get a few games of footy in.
30minutes after the meal imo. They're kids for crying out loud.

i assume you mean longer than that, in which case no, dont be so sure. Not everybody gets 1 hour lunchbreaks anyway.

Completely restricting what children can eat at school is wrong but some solution needs to be put into place. It annoys me walking back from college seeing OBESE 13/14 year olds. Quite frankly, the butt of blame is at the parent's feet. The situation is similar to the saying "there is no such thing as a bad dog, just a bad owner" well the same applies. These kids wouldn't be obese if there idiotic parents didn't buy all this **** for them.

I've said it before in another thread; No one (not in power :)) has the right to tell you how to live your life. If you want to be fat, go for it! Just don't make the situation affect me. Incidentally, if you're fat and go to hospital to receive treatment relating to your size, that affects me as I'll be paying for it in future :)
