I was under the impression Gilly was saying that trust has to be earned in the first place.

I see what he means though after re-reading...

The way I see it, trust is a funny thing. I have the ethos of giving people trust but staying on the cautious side. Trust can be lost in an instant, but can't be gained as fast.

Really shocked by this, I was under the impression it was guys much more than girls that cheated - whole cant keep it in your pants thing. When I was younger admittedly I cheated on a couple of boyfriends but now I'm an old maid I would hope that I'd grown up enough not to put myself in a position where I was tempted, been with the old man a while now and so far I only have eyes for him, hoping it stays like that. But I hate that I still worry about whether he thinks the same way. I've never been cheated on so I guess I'm worried that I'll get my payback for what I've done in the past. I hate the whole thing though, if your with someone no matter if its been for a week or 10 years have enough respect for them to either be faithful or end it before moving on to the next person. I hope to end up one of these married people that still love their husband when I'm 70 and only want him... but in this day and age I dont know if thats a nieve wish or not

Been cheated on and cheated myself. The myself one was revenge, and probably inevitable - should've ended it sooner, and i'm not proud of the fact.

Almost neck and neck with cheated on more just in the lead. And thats a fair amount of people. I guess maybe i shouldnt be so shocked then.

I hope to end up one of these married people that still love their husband when I'm 70 and only want him... but in this day and age I dont know if thats a nieve wish or not

I haven't cheated and I have been cheated on, sort of. I have no trust for anyone other than my closest friends now and emotionally am quite a hard/cold person. My trust needs to be earnt.

Caught 'er in bed with my "best friend." I about turned and closed the door on my way out. (Was at a mutual friends house.) Displaying no emotion at all; but pretty much broke down when out of view.

Bumped into him after a few months, gave him a hiding. Other than that not spoken to any one from that group of friends since.

yes i have been cheated on, but then i have cheated on others. that is in the younger years of my life though, never had it done or done it in a proper serious relationship.
