I made nice cheese on toast last night, yes with worchester sauce :D

but the cheese was just not tasty enough or strong enough

whats the best cheese come on ? full names would be great so i can go purchase from named place.

:D

Red Leicester is good for cheese on toast, personally though I like crumbling a bit of stilton and throwing it in with grated cheddar (with Worcester sauce too of course). :)

I normally use a mild/medium supermarket own-brand cheddar but add plenty of Worcester sauce and brown it well on top then eat with HP sauce. I don't think a strong cheddar is needed.

Have you ever made a Welsh Rarebit? The quality of the cheese is more important there.

Mild cheese is for melting
Mature cheese is for everything else (sandwiches)

I love strong cheese, but I totally agree with this. I use Morisson's own brand Mild Cheddar for toasting, on brown bread. Very nice.
