cheese on toast? best cheese ?

Damn this thread...!

Mature Cheddar, Red Leicester, and Stilton grated together and mixed with black pepper rocks. Goes very well with A1 Steak Sauce. :)

Extra strong cheddar.

I generally do it in a sandwich grill thing.

Grate in cheese. Spread in HP. Butter the outside only. Put in machine till crisp on outside.
Devour.

The HP is amazing I found. D:

Any good mature cheddar should do it, preferably locally sourced. Avoid all the mass produced rubbish like Cathedral City.

Why not try a bit of Caerphilly, Cheshire, or Wensleydale for a bit a variety? White Stilton is great too, although I don't rate the blue stuff myself.

Cheese is serious business. I once acquired some Oak Matured Cheddar from Cheddar that was so strong I nicknamed it Death Cheese and chased my brother round the cark park at Wookey Hole with it!

A Cheddar cheese called 'seriously strong' is really tasty & available in Supermarkets ,quite surprised how nice Greek Feta cheese is on a toasty, this sounds bizarre but try cheese on toast with blackcurrant jam spread on, its magic

Red Leicester is really good, although other facier cheeses with onion and whatnot in can make for a slightly more exicting snack!

Worchester sauce is a definite accessory though, every time

Edit: Also, the cheese has to be cut in slices, NOT grated, that's just lame.

Colliers is the best cheese, strongest I've tasted yet. It's much stronger than cathedral city, M&S also do a new cheese which is a 7 but is farmhouse so tastes strong but creamy. Colliers has a lovey, distinctive, strong full on flavour.
