Chelsea open talks with Shevchenko

he wants to come to the uk so he can pick up the language easier ...... soon he'll be able to shout MAN ON!! to his missus and tell her there was no way that was offside .... lol

well mourinho wont be able to stick with one upfront .... i dont think ive seen Shev upfront on his own .... and if he ends up with a 4 - 4 - 2 whats he gonna do with the midfield? play ballack and lampard?

even though id rather chelsea not get chavchenko..

my summary is..

next season is going to be fantastic... sheva, henry, kuyt... top 3 goalscorers of the league i think....

the premiership will truly be the best league in the world... not to mention the usuals, we all know them

Hmm not that great that world class talent go to italy to play and to england for the cash mind. Or in sheva's case one last big payday before he shev's off.

nah, sheva is fantastic player, he isnt a ponsey sunlight estremo either, he will cope with the dodgy weather...

he isnt a lightweight either.

unfortunately i think sheva will be unstoppable at chelsea

I have a feeling that Shevchenko will flop, similarly to Morientes and Kezman.

You obviously haven't seen that much of him over the years then. He is genuinely in another league to most players.

Being a Man U fan i'm obviously a bit gutted he's going to chelsea, for me there is no doubt that he will go there either. With possibly Gallas and/or drogba heading the other way. From what i hear shevchenko is quite good friends with abramovich so i expect that to be a factor in him signing for chelsea

I know a lot of people have been saying that chelsea are buying the title etc, and signing shevchenko will only back that argument up. As far as i'm concerned any tho fan who says they wouldn't want their club to be in chelsea's position is at the very least lying to themselves.

The guy is from eastern europe have you seen the state of some of their pitches? Never stopped him playing too shabby in the past in european competitions before he moved to Milan so I don't think a bit of english weather will put him off!

The language might be a problem but if he is willing to learn then it is no problem, if you want to learn english then where better to learn it than the Capital of England.

He is a superstar so will fit in nicely alongside Lampard, Terry, Ballack etc. The fact that if Sheva does sign and Ballack is already in the bag thats two of the world's best players signed the same season, that means both of them will share the burden of being the next big thing in the premiership which should help them settle much easier.
