Cheltenham Festival 2006

im tempted to have a little flutter again today but I don't want to get greedy after my wins yesterday so might sit on it.

However, :D if I was going to back anything this is what I might look at:

2.00 Refinement placed 3rd @ 11-2
2.35 Bold Bishop (each way) or Darkness to win came third
3.15 Fota Island came second
4.00 (might as well stick a pin in the page on this one lol!) Good Thyne Jack (each way) came nowhere
4.40 Would have done Native Jack but that ran yesterday instead and won! Mon Mome (each way)
5.20 Equus Maximus.

REMEMBER. These are not tips, just what I fancy betting on myself. If you choose to follow my bets then that is your decision. Only bet what you can afford to lose and most of all, have fun!

I was supposed to go a few years ago, but it was cancelled due to foot and mouth :(
£50 a ticket as well, it's only a tenner at newton abbot :p

I've had a disasterous first 2 days. I feel slightly more confident for tomorrow though.

Thursdays 'Tips'

2.00 - Chilling Place EW Unplaced
2.35 - Armaturk EW Unplaced
3.15 - No Refuge EW Unplaced
4.00 - Non So EW 1st 14-1 :p
4.40 - Basilea Star Win Fell
5.20 - Carlys Quest EW Unplaced

Good luck and don't forget, bet for the fun of it. If you are going to back them, do so at small stakes. :)

I didn't.
Enough for a pint. :p

I lost out overall (about 100 down) although one of our lot backed a winner at 33-1 in one of the races with a tenner, git. I had given up by that point and was concentrating on drinking Guiness. :)
 
Here's my picks:

2:00 - Cornish Sett (9/1ish) - Pants, nowhere
2:35 - Our Vic (10/3 -> 5/1) - Oops :/
3:15 - Patriarch Express EW (10/1) - starting to lose faith in my picks now :p
4:00 - Tango Royal EW (33/1)
4:40 - Far From Trouble - (5/1)
5:20 - Carlys Quest (20/1)

At last. Non So wins at 14-1. The good thing about Cheltenham is that it only take one decent priced winner to pull you out of the mire! :)

Unlucky mate. 3rd.

My selection, Basilea Star fell. :( That's the main reason i prefer flat racing over NH racing. I've had loads of fallers this week. It's frustrating not to get a run for your money.

It actually beat the horse that won the race by 9 lengths in Ireland last year. Strange! :confused:
