Chess club

Could have gone either way in the middle stages I think but it's not helped that some of your pieces are trapped.

Good game.
For sure. It'll be interesting to see the game review. I think you were ahead for most of the game though.
We both had pieces that could not be moved as they were protecting or blocking. With my pawn on e2, I should have used my king earlier to take advantage.
It felt like a little mistake from either of us would swing the game. Sadly (for me) it was me that made the silly mistake at the end.

Hi spacedeck. Good game.
It was pretty tough to claw anything back with so many pieces missing.
Do you want to play again, this time a standard game?

Yes please. I'm terrible when it comes to openings, something I need to research more of. Even for my standards, that was a high quality game! With a few pieces missing, you made it extremely hard to push through with any of my pieces!

That Game Review score is pretty tight. Only one inaccuracy all match. Good Game, now with a full strength army, I expect to be throughly destroyed .

The past few week have reminded me how much I enjoy chess (I partially picked my secondary school based on if they have a chess club). This game has benefited so much by our advancement to smartphones.

I have been playing a lot of 5 minute blitz, though for the purpose of improving I should be sinking more time into rapid and actually learning an opening.

I have been watching I lot of guess the Elo by gothamchess. I see some of the 600-700 game and I think to myself how is this person that same Elo as me. And then I go play a game and accidentally hang mate in one. Except my opponent doesn’t notice and plays a terrible move giving me an advantage so it’s all good.

I started two 3 day games back when I got the app. Apparently both players thought that it meant you must take at least 48 hours to make each move. With one guy constantly using his vacation time. Well one of them ran out of time and the other guy is using his vacation time with 48 hours on the clock. The second time he has done this in the past week.

@Chuk_Chuk good to hear you're enjoying it. I'm also enjoying getting back into it.
I keep thinking I should play more rapid games too but haven't got around to it. Perhaps we can have a game some time. I'm also happy to play one 1 or 3 dayer with you, although it might have to wait a few days as I've got too many games ongoing already!

I completely agree. Playing on a smart phone against anyone around the world makes it so easy to play, especially with all the different ways to play. The only time it gets annoying is when you end up playing half a game then your opponent gives up or keeps going on vacation.

Yep. The guy I’m playing has 24 games going on right now. I’m tempted to just offer a draw or forfeit. So I can invest time in people that actually play.
