It has nothing to do with taking care of the tyres and everything to do with the fact that the design of the car means there is a narrow window in which the tyres work at their optimal performance.

So if the conditions tomorrow are within that window, then you're more likely to merc pull away. If not then the reverse might be true.

On a different note. WTF is wrong with both Sky and BBC talking over the team radio broadcasts. Grrrr.
